'Breaking Bad' Spin-off 'Better Call Saul' Releases Trailer for New Season; Teases Evolution of Saul Goodman
"Better Call Saul" is back for its sixth and final season, as AMC released its first full-length teaser on Thursday after nearly two years since the season 5 finale.
The trailer shows Jimmy McGill embracing his Saul Goodman persona with a confidence not seen in previous seasons, as he continues his transformation from eager young lawyer to full-on con man - and fall into plenty of chaos along the way.
With this being the show's final season, the timeline is moving closer and closer to many of "Breaking Bad"'s main events, meaning there is a good chance we will see plenty more crossovers, per Polygon.
Perhaps not in the most obvious ways, however. The trailer ended with Mike Ehrmantraut saying, "Whatever happens next, it's not gonna go down the way you think it is."
"Better Call Saul"'s final season premieres on April 18, with seven episodes planned before a break. Its last six episodes will begin airing on July 11.
Along with footage from the sixth and final season of "Better Call Saul," AMC Networks also dropped a teaser during Super Bowl LVI Sunday featuring the first look at its Anne Rice series "Interview with the Vampire," the middle third of the final season of "The Walking Dead" and upcoming anthology "Tales of the Walking Dead," the fourth season of "Killing Eve," and several other shows coming to AMC.
'Better Call Saul' S5 Coming To Netflix
With "Better Call Saul" Season 6 now confirmed to air in April 2022 on AMC, its Netflix release is tied to season 5 release.
"Better Call Saul" S5 is coming to Netflix US on April 4.
It had been a great few years to be a "Breaking Bad" fan, headlined with "Better Call Saul" telling us the genesis story of the wise-talking Saul Goodman. In addition, we were treated to "El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie" in late 2019, which wrapped up Jessie Pinkman's saga.
On February 23, 2020, Season 5 of the TV series premiered on AMC, consisting of ten episodes. Later that April 20, it came to an end.
The sixth season will be the show's finale, with 13 episodes concluding Jimmy McGill's transformation into Saul Goodman. Before the confirmed release, the show has faced significant delays.
Season 5 of "Better Call Saul" will take the longest to release in Canada, the United States, South Africa, and Spain.
Because the show premieres in the U.S. first, it takes time for the license to become accessible on Netflix in these regions, and they do not get the same weekly treatment as others do.
Season 4, for example, was released on Netflix on February 9, 2020, just weeks before Season 5 was set to air. Season 3, however, was added to Netflix in March 2018, before the August premiere schedule.
In the past years, TV buffs have always seen new seasons added shortly before the next is set to air, and season 5 is set to be no different.
