Las Vegas: Police Dog Detects $10.5 Million Worth of Cocaine in Tomato Delivery
A Las Vegas police dog is getting some praise on social media after directing authorities to $10.5 million worth of cocaine in a truck full of tomatoes on Friday.
According to Newsweek, K9 Nuggetz was called to sniff out the stash and alerted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) at around 2:30 a.m.
Fox 11 reported that detectives initially stopped the truck for erratic driving near I-15 and St. Rose Parkway.
"The nervous driver had a story that didn't add up," the police department said in a Facebook post.
Police noted that was when authorities called in Nuggetz and sniffed out the cocaine included in the tomato shipment.
"LVMPD K9 Nuggetz indicated an alert for drugs which led to a search," the police department said.
Police found at least 230 pounds of cocaine after the dog alerted them for its presence. The said value of the drugs was reportedly amounting to $10.5 million.

Las Vegas Police Arrests 2 Over Cocaine Smuggling
The Las Vegas police said at least two men were arrested for the cocaine found inside the truck carrying tomatoes, NBC News reported.
The two men were identified as Nanak Singh and Chandra Prakash. Authorities did not disclose their origin and ages. They were reportedly taken into custody for trafficking a controlled substance.
According to NBC News, Nevada jail records did not indicate whether Singh and Prakash were still in the custody of the authorities as of Saturday.
A day after the arrest of Singh and Prakash, four men were also arrested over their involvement in a major drug trafficking organization, also in Las Vegas, News 3 reported.
Authorities did not identify those arrested but claimed that 63 pounds of meth and 2,000 fentanyl pills were found in one of their cars.
According to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the four men were attempting to sell fentanyl-laced pills in bulk when the agents closed in on them.
