Dwayne Haskins' Death: Kalabrya Haskins, Wife of Steelers QB, Shares Emotional Statement After the Tragic Accident
Dwayne Haskins' wife, Kalabrya Haskins, has made her first public comment since the athlete's death. He was killed when he was hit by a dump truck on a South Florida highway.
Kalabrya said in a statement that she would like to express her gratitude to everyone who has supported their family during "this arduous time of loss."
Pittsburgh Steelers Communications Director, Burt Lauten, posted the Steelers QB's wife's statement on Twitter.
Haskins' funeral services will take place next weekend, with his memorial to be held on April 23 at Christ Church in Rockaway Township.
The next memorial services will be held at Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland.
Kalabrya said in a statement that her husband was more than a great football player, adding that Haskins will forever rest and remain in their hearts.

Dwayne Haskins' Death
Dwayne Haskins was trying to cross Interstate 595's westbound lanes, near the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Broward County.
The Florida Highway Patrol said that a dump truck has hit Haskins. The patrol said that the incident occurred shortly after 6:30 a.m.
The patrol said in a news release that Haskins had been "walking on the highway for unknown reasons," according to a CNN Sports News report.
Haskins was in South Florida working out with some Steelers teammates. It was captured in Instagram Stories from Haskins and running back Najee Harris.
Local resident Christ Stanley said that he believes he saw Haskins on the highway before the accident, noticing vehicles veering into his lane.
Stanely added that the Steelers QB was about halfway to a quarter way in the right lane. He said that he was already concerned that somebody was going to strike him right there at that moment, according to Marca News report.
Haskins was pronounced dead on the scene. He was 24-years-old.
Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson Lt. Indiana Miranda noted that Haskins was trying to cross the westbound lanes of Interstate 595 when there was oncoming traffic.
Dwayne Haskins Career
Dwayne Haskins was picked 15th overall by the Washington Commanders in the 2019 draft following a standout 2018 season at Ohio State. He spent two seasons with Washington before signing in Pittsburgh before last season, according to an ESPN News report.
Commanders owners Daniel and Tanya Snyder said in a statement that they are devastated by the news of Haskins' passing.
The Commanders owners added that the Steelers QB was a "young man with a tremendous amount of potential," noting that to say that they are heartbroken is an understatement.
Commanders coach Ron Rivera said in a statement that he is "at a loss for words" with Haskins' death.
Haskins played in 16 games over two seasons with Washington. He had a record of a total QBR of 29.4, with a league average during that time at 63.5.
Haskins threw 12 touchdown passes to 14 interceptions.
Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool shared a tweet regarding Haskins' death, saying that he spent time with the Steelers QB this weekend.
