Johnny Depp-Amber Heard Trial: Doctor Testifies About How Actor’s Severed Fingertip Was Found on Kitchen Floor
A doctor on Monday revealed how Johnny Depp lost a fingertip in 2015 as he testified in the actor's defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
According to Law and Crime, two of Depp's medical healthcare providers explained how they learned about Depp's severed fingertip.
The Wrap reported that Depp previously claimed that his fingertip was sliced off when his ex-wife threw a bottle of vodka at him.
The incident reportedly occurred in March 2015 in Australia during the fifth installment of "Pirates of the Caribbean." However, David Kipper, Depp's private physician, claimed that the actor told an emergency room doctor that he sliced his fingertip with a knife.
Kipper noted that he cleaned the actor's wound before taking Depp to the hospital. He said he also went back to the house to look for the actor's fingertip, which Depp's personal chef found on the kitchen floor.
Kipper noted that he saw broken glass in the kitchen and "blood around the home." The doctor said he did not notice any signs of abuse or bruising when he saw Heard the same day. Kipper further noted that Heard never sought medical attention from him for alleged abuse.
Debbie Lloyd, Depp's addiction nurse who traveled with him as he detoxed, said she heard different stories about how Depp had his fingertip cut.
"I had heard that Amber threw a bottle of vodka at him. I had heard that he slammed it with a phone," Lloyd noted.
According to Yahoo! Entertainment, neither Kipper nor Lloyd saw physical abuse on the couple at the time. Lloyd has also called Heard and Depp's relationship toxic.
Depp's long-time security agent Sean Bett, who also took the stand Monday, did not observe the fingertip incident specifically, but he told the jury that he saw Heard throw a water bottle or a coffee cup, "something plastic," at the actor and identified photographs of Depp's alleged bruises in a December 2015 fight with Heard.
In the Fairfax, Virginia courtroom, the security agent told the jury that he took the pictures "just in case she made allegations."
Bett added that Depp had physical injuries, including scratch marks around his nose, on the side of his face, and his forehead.

Johnny Depp's Security Agent Says He Warned Amber Heard About Their Arguments
Sean Bett also claimed during the trial that he warned Amber Heard about her relationship with Johnny Depp.
The security agent claimed that while driving Heard home, he told her that their arguments "can't continue" because they were either going to kill each other or be in jail. However, Heard replied with a heartfelt statement.
"But I love him, and I'm not going to lose him," Heard allegedly told Bett at the time.
The security agent further noted that Heard and Depp's relationship started as loving and giddy, but it changed to constant arguing and bickering.
Johnny Depp to Take Stand on Tuesday's Defamation Trial
Johnny Depp is expected to testify Tuesday in his defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard. Depp and Heard are battling over a 2018 op-ed the actress wrote for the Washington Post, calling herself a domestic violence survivor.
The piece did not mention Depp by name, but the actor claimed he was booted from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise due to the "clear implication" that he was the abuser in his ex-wife's op-ed.
Depp further alleged that Heard was the actual "perpetrator" of the violent encounters that damaged their relationship. He is asking for $50 million in damages.
On the other hand, Heard has filed a $100 million counterclaim against the actor, who she divorced in 2017, for nuisance. The defamation trial in Fairfax, Virginia is expected to last six weeks.
