Ron DeSantis Net Worth: How Rich Is the Florida Republican Governor?
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has been eyed as a possible Republican candidate for the 2024 presidential election and is known to implement controversial laws in the state in light of the recent passing of the "Don't Say Gay" bill and the removal of Disney World's self-governing status.
In addition, he is also known for being a staunch critic of U.S. President Joe Biden's administration, particularly on the current leadership's take on immigration.
DeSantis has been the 46th governor of Florida since Jan. 8, 2019, according to Florida Department of State website.

Gov. Ron DeSantis Net Worth
In 2021, DeSantis net worth has grown nearly 20 percent in his second year as the state's top executive.
DeSantis reported a net worth of $348,832 as of Dec. 31, 2020, which is an increase of $291,449 at the end of 2019, according to an Orlando Weekly report.
Meanwhile, the Republican governor's taxpayer-funded salary amount to $134,181.
Aside from his salary, DeSantis listed assets of $235,000 in a USAA account, with his $105,755 in a government thrift savings plan, which is a type of retirement savings and investment plan.
He also has $30,302 in the Florida Retirement System in 2020.
The money in the state retirement system increased a little more than $16,000 and the former congressman's thrift savings plan grew by $7,985, according to a Sun-Sentinel news report.
The Florida governor also paid down a Sallie Mae student loan by $3,605 during 2020, with a remaining balance of $22,225 as of December 31.
He sold his Ponte Vedra Beach home in March 2019 for $460,000. He is currently living in the governor's mansion and listed no real-estate holdings.
In 2018, when he ran for office, DeSantis posted a net worth of $283,605.
Ron DeSantis' Road to Politics
DeSantis was known to be a native Floridian with blue-collar roots. The Florida governor worked his way through Yale University, wherein he graduated with honors and was the captain of the varsity baseball team.
He was also a graduate of Harvard Law School, where he earned a commission in the U.S. as a Jag Office.
He supported operations at the terrorist detention center at Guantanamo Bay and was deployed to Iraq as an adviser to a U.S. Navy SEAL commander during his active-duty service.
After his active-duty service, DeSantis served as a federal prosecutor, wherein he targeted and convicted child predators.
In 2012, he was first elected to Congress as the U.S. Representative for Florida's Sixth District.
During his Congress stint, he fought for term limits, the No Budget/No Pay Act, and urged for decreased taxes.
DeSantis also refused his Congressional pension and health insurance plan as he said to be against special deals for politicians.
DeSantis married Casey DeSantis, who is an Emmy Award-winning television host. Casey was earlier diagnosed with breast cancer.
DeSantis first announced his wife's condition in October, according to a News4Jax report.
The two now have three children under the age of five.
