Peru is one of the countries in the Latin American region that is graced with wealth when it comes to the environment. With its luscious forests that are home to animals and beautiful beaches that entice travelers from around the world, it is not surprising that Peru is targeting to become this year's sustainable destination.
Their eagerness to have the title is evident in several recognitions that Peru received in connection to their eco-friendly travel destinations.
According to Travel Pulse, the country's beaches in Paracas were recognized as among Conde Nasts' 50 most beautiful places in the world.
When it comes to travel destinations, Peru was also recognized by Lonely Planet as one of the ten most fascinating countries in the world for surfing.
Several nature reserves in the country, including Tingo Maria National Park and the Pacaya Samiria National Park, made Peru recognized in the Green Destinations Story Awards held in Berlin this year.
The said parks are home to over 1,000 animal species, including the Amazon river dolphin.
