Mexico: 5 Bodies Left Inside a Car in Guerrero State Plagued by Mexican Drug Cartels
Five bodies were found inside a car in the city of Acapulco in Mexico's state of Guerrero early Thursday morning.
According to Borderland Beat, the bodies were found inside a white Nissan Sentra vehicle at the entrance to the town of La Venta in Acapulco. Authorities said the victims were handcuffed and bore signs of torture.
A message was reportedly left on the car's windshield saying, "This is going to happen to all carjackers and motorcyclejackers from Acapulco to San Marcos."
Replica Guerrero reported that it was signed by "18 cmdte" or Comandante 18. There was no immediate information on a possible motive. But the State Prosecutor's Office said the vehicle was reported stolen, adding that it will investigate this case to capture the perpetrators.
The bodies were reportedly removed from the car by the Forensic Medical Service staff and transferred to their facility.

More Bodies and Decapitated Heads Found in Mexico's Guerrero State
Authorities believed that Comandante 18 also had something to do with the human head abandoned last Tuesday in a market in the Primero de Mayo neighborhood in Guerrero.
According to Replica Guerrero, the decapitated head was found around noon along Plan de Ayala street without the body. It was on top of three cardboards with messages alluding to revenge between criminal groups.
The state of Guerrero seems to suffer from an escalation of violence. Just two weeks ago, five bodies of men were found inside a white taxi on a road in Las Cuchillas town, near the federal highway, in the municipality of Juchitan. The three bodies were decapitated or beheaded, while the remaining two were shot to death.
Last March 31, six human heads and some dismembered bodies were found on a parked car in the municipality of Chilapa de Alvarez in Guerrero.
The human heads were found on the roof of a black Volkswagen Pointer with license plates HCX7649 stationed along Eucaria Apreza Boulevard. Authorities also discovered eight black plastic bags with dismembered human remains inside the vehicle.
Along with the heads and bags, a large poster with an intimidating message was posted beside the car. Authorities believed that the murdered individuals were victims of drug gang-related violence because of the message written on the canvas that gave a warning against kidnapping and drug selling.
Guerrero State in Mexico Plagued by Mexican Drug Cartels
The Mexico's state of Guerrero is reportedly plagued by Mexican drug cartels dedicated to drug trafficking and extortion. The Independent Cartel of Acapulco is one of the drug cartels operating in Guerrero, particularly in the city of Acapulco.
The said cartel is reportedly fighting the Jalisco cartel for control of the Port of Acapulco and other points in the state. Acapulco is known as a key entryway for South American cocaine, making the city an attractive piece of real estate for drug cartels.
According to Borderland Beat, Guerrero has been hit by organized crime groups in recent years, and in 2021, the state experienced a strong wave of violence.
During the first two months of 2022, the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System reported that Guerrero recorded 201 intentional homicides, of which 64 were registered in Acapulco.
