Dave Chappelle's attacker during his show in Hollywood Bowl on Tuesday night will not face felony charges, according to the authorities.

District Attorney Spokesperson Greg Risling confirmed to CNN in a statement on Thursday about the authorities' move, claiming that evidence presented against Dave Chappelle's attacker, Isaiah Lee, did not constitute felony conduct. However, Lee's case has now been referred to the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office for consideration of possible misdemeanor charges, according to Deadline.

As of Thursday, Lee remains in police custody.

It can be recalled that the 23-year-old attacker during Chappelle's show was arrested by the authorities from Los Angeles after he stormed the stage while the comedian was about to get off the platform after his performance. Lee reportedly lunged and tackled the comedian to the ground.

Officials also claimed that Lee pointed out a replica handgun that contains a knife blade when he attacked Chappelle on stage.

Chappelle was not injured after the incident, but the attacker was reportedly brought to the hospital with minor injuries.

Isaiah Lee was then charged with Assault with a deadly weapon and his bail was set to $30,000.

Dave Chappelle Attacker Had History of Mental Health Issues - Brother

The brother of Isaiah Lee, Aaron Lee, revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone that his sibling had a history of mental health issues, per New York Post.

Aaron noted that his brother is taking medications and suspected that Isaiah missed out on taking one.

"He's not the type of person to attack you for no reason. But if he's not on his medication, and if he feels everyone is against him, maybe that's it," Aaron Lee underscored.

Aaron also revealed in the interview that Isaiah had no prior beef with Chappelle. He added that the attacker has a lot of transgender friends, but he does not think that Chappelle's controversial jokes would have triggered him to attack the comedian.

"I don't understand how this happened. He's a gentleman. He is a kind, humble, nice person," Isaiah Lee's brother said, adding that his brother would defend himself if he was getting picked on.

Isaiah Lee, who goes by the name NoName_Trapper and has a verified Spotify account, had reportedly published a song entitled "Dave Chappell" in 2020.

Aaron Lee insisted that the song has nothing to do with the comedian and that the meaning is nothing about Chapelle himself.

"People are searching Dave Chappelle all the time, so he hoped it would help him get more attention, more attraction, so people could find it," Isaiah Lee's brother noted.

Dave Chappelle Thanks Friends Following Hollywood Bowl Attack

Dave Chappelle expressed his gratitude to his friends who acted against his attacker at Hollywood Bowl during his show.

An audio obtained by The Daily Mail revealed that Dave Chappelle said he felt good about what happened with Isaiah lee following his attack.

"I felt good. My friend broke his arm. I felt good. how bad does a n***** have to be that Joe Stewart would stomp him!' [inaudible] 'I'm very proud of [inaudible]," Chapelle said during his after-party.

Dave Chappelle's attack came as comedians became increasingly worried about getting on stage in the aftermath of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock.

"People are going on the stage just trying to make a name for themselves ... And I think what Will Smith did actually encouraged the violence and that's a horrible thing," laugh Factory Owner Jamie Masada told Fox News.
