Selena Quintanilla was considered to be one of the highest-grossing Latin artists during the 90s, experiencing considerable commercial success over the course of her career.
Outside of the music industry, the "Queen of Tejano music" is also considered influential in the world of fashion and cosmetics.
Celebrity Net Worth reported that she had a net worth equal to $5 million at the time of her death in 1995.
Selena first became well-known in the Tejano community after releasing an album with Selena y Los Dinos in the mid-80s. She then signed a contract with EMI Latin records after releasing a number of LPs.
Selena released her self-titled album in 1989 and peaked at number seven on Billboard charts. She released "Ven Conmigo" in 1990, which is an album that included her hit song "Baila Esta Cumbia."

Selena Quintanilla's Net Worth After Death
Selena was reported to have had $5 million in gross earnings when she died in 1994, some of which may have been due to the success of her boutiques.
The Latina icon had planned to open a third location in Mexico, according to a Looper report.
However, the exact amount of Selena's worth today is private, being part of a legal battle that is being fought between her father and her widower, Chris Perez.
The two have been in litigation for years, with Perez reportedly calling for Abraham to release the estate's financial records.
Perez agreed to receive no more than 25 percent of the net profits that Selena's estate earns every year, according to an agreement he signed shortly after his wife's death.
Perez had received around $3 million from the Selena estate despite questioning the amount.
His earnings on Selena's estate would mean that her multi-platinum albums, the biopic, the museum, and merchandise deals would give only earned around $12 million over the years.
Perez is questioning the earnings, which is considered a "relatively low number for the successful star."
Probate documents confirmed that her net worth was $164,000 at the time of her death, which is roughly equivalent to $280,000 in 2021. However, fans knew her net worth continued increasing in the years, adding value to her estate and net worth, according to The Things report.
Selena Quintanilla's Death
Selena was shot and killed by former fan club president Yolanda Saldívar on Mar. 31, 1995. The Latina singer was 23 years old.
Selena and her family discovered financial mishaps with her fan club and fashion brand, which prompted them to accuse Saldívar of not sending fan items that they paid for, as well as embezzling $30,000, according to an Oprah Daily report.
Selena tried to recover those records and on one such attempt at a Days Inn motel in Corpus Christi, Saldívar shot Selena in the back with a 38-caliber revolver, with the bullet shattering an artery in her collarbone before exiting her chest.
Motel employees testified that Selena came running into the motel's lobby after being shot and chased by Saldívar.
