DC Films Head Walter Hamada took the stand in Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's defamation trial.

On Tuesday, Hamada appeared through a recorded deposition in March and testified about Heard in connection to their film, "Aquaman," according to CNN.

Heard previously indicated in her testimony that she believes her role in "Aquaman 2" was scaled back. She added she had to fight to be even in the movie after her legal battle with Depp. However, Hamada explained that Heard's role in the movie franchise was determined in the early development of the script, which would have happened in 2018.

"The character's involvement in the story was sort of what it was from the beginning," Hamada said in his deposition. Hamada went on to say that the film "Aquaman" was built to be around the character of Arthur and Orm, which were played by actors Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson, respectively.

Hamada also mentioned that there was a discussion about Heard's role in the film's sequel.

"I think editorially they were able to make that relationship work in the first movie but there was a concern that it took a lot of effort to get there and would we be better off recasting," Hamada noted.

The DC chief explained that the talks rose because Heard has no chemistry with Momoa. Hamada added that finding someone who has a natural chemistry with Momoa would be better for the film.

The DC chief noted that the chemistry between Heard and Momoa in the film was the magic of post-production, which included music, sound design, and editing.

"They didn't have a lot of chemistry together... Editorially they were able to make that relationship work in the first movie, but there was a concern that it took a lot of effort to get there," Hamada said, per Variety.

Jason Momoa Wants Amber Heard to Reprise Her Role in 'Aquaman'

The testimony from the DC chief came a day after Jason Momoa was reportedly firm with his desire to let Amber Heard continue to play her role in the sequel of the "Aquaman" movie.

The information was confirmed by Entertainment Industry expert Kathryn Arnolds when she took the stand in the defamation trial on Monday, according to the Independent.

According to Arnold, "Aquaman" was Heard's big break in the entertainment industry. However, the "defamatory statements" against the actress made movie studios and brands wary of working with her.

The statement reportedly led to a social media campaign that aims to remove Heard from the sequel of "Aquaman."

Arnold pointed out that Jason Momoa and director James Wan were "adamant" that Heard reprise her role, Mera, in "Aquaman 2."

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp are battling over a 2018 op-ed the actress wrote where she painted herself as a domestic violence survivor.

Depp argued that the article made it difficult for him to land the Hollywood roles he once used to. The actor is asking for $50 million in damages.

Meanwhile, Heard is countersuing Depp for $100 million for orchestrating a "smear campaign" against her. She also said the lawsuit is Depp's continuation of abuse and harassment towards her.
