SNAP benefits 2022 in Texas are eyeing to release the payment in June through the Texas Lone Star Cards as managed by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.

Go Banking Rates also reported that Texas has a program for households in which all members are either older adults or people with disabilities, which is called Texas Simplified Application Project.

The TSAP expedites the SNAP application process and it provides three years of benefits instead of six months.

SNAP benefits are deposited onto Lone Star Cards over 15 days, starting on the 1st of the month. The date recipients receive their Texas SNAP benefits depends on the last digit of their Eligibility Determination Group number.

Recipients' EDG numbers can be found on the TF0001 form the HHSC sent to recipients, saying that they are eligible for SNAP benefits.

People can also find it by calling 800-777-7328.

It will be managed by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, according to a press release by the governor's office.

Abbott said that the extension of emergency SNAP benefits for May will help ensure that families can put "nutritious food on their tables."

The state government has also expressed gratitude to HHSC and USDA for the continued effort to provide support for families across the state of Texas.

Texas HHS Access and Eligibility Services Deputy Executive Commissioner Wayne Salter said that he is proud that HHSC is able to give a helping hand to Texas families in need.

The emergency allotments in May are in addition to the more than $6.7 billion in benefits previously given to Texas since April 2020.
