Amber Heard's verdict this week caused many netizens to call on major film companies that booted Johnny Depp from movie projects to apologize to the actor.

According to VT, Depp admitted on an Instagram post in the fall of 2020 that he was asked by Warner Brothers to resign from his Gellert Grindelwald's role in "Fantastic Beasts" following his separation from Heard and his subsequent libel case against The Sun.

This happened after Disney, in 2018, was no longer looking to cast Depp in any future "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies.

Some Twitter users demanded Disney and Warner Brothers to apologize to Depp publicly. A user also noted that tripling the actor's pay to return to the "Pirates of the Caribbean" was a good start.

"@Disney @DisneyStudios so you guys gonna like publicly apologise to Johnny Depp? Maybe tripling his salary to return to #PiratesoftheCaribbean would be a lovely start," the user said.

Another user tweeted: "WARNER BROTHERS & DISNEY NEED TO FORMALLY APOLOGIZE TO JOHNNY DEPP."

A Twitter user also asked Disney and Warner Bros to apologize to Johnny Depp and return him to the roles stripped away from him amid the issues surrounding him and Amber Heard.

"Disney and Warner Bros must publicly apologize, and put #JohnnyDepp back where he belongs. Everyone knows that no one can play these roles better than him, but he said he will never play as Captain Jack again. I will never forgive Amber and Disney," the user said.

Johnny Depp Verdict: Can the Actor Return to the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' Franchise?

Several movie executives think that Johnny Depp can soon return to the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise after scoring a legal win against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

A former Walt Disney executive, which was not named, told People that the verdict vested by the jury this week could someday return Depp to his role as Captain Jack Sparrow.  

"There is just too much potential box-office treasure for a beloved character deeply embedded in the Disney culture," the former executive noted.

Another Hollywood source who has worked on the previous "Pirates" film told the outlet that Depp was "not very likely" to come back as a star, saying they'd probably get Margot Robbie or "someone similar" for the next installment of the film.

"I would think they make Robbie his daughter and likely have a cameo with him as a test," the insider noted.

The Effects of the Verdict on Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's Career

Entertainment industry insiders think that the verdict vested by the jury will affect the careers of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.

A top film studio executive told Vanity Fair that it would only take a minute to determine if the people would want to work with them and if the public would "care" in that matter.

Meanwhile, a development executive in the industry noted that it would be a gradual process before Depp goes back into his place in Hollywood.

"The jury and the public seem to be on his side, so it's less controversial than many of these other celebrities who've been guilty of #MeToo accusations because he did win the case largely," the executive said.

However, the executive admitted that Depp's career would depend if the executives within the business would like headaches, referring to the abuse allegations slammed against him. Another industry expert said Amber Heard's career after the verdict is "over."

"She didn't really have a viable career in the last year or two or so before this, so I don't know how she comes out of that," the expert noted.
