Amber Heard: Net Worth and Earnings
Celebrity Net Worth reported that Heard's net worth was estimated to be $2.5 million. Numerous reports noted that Heard's legal costs up to the point of the verdict were largely covered by her homeowners' insurance.
However, it was not clear if her insurance would also cover the full damages.
Heard's lawyer was asked by "The Today Show" host Savannah Guthrie if Heard could afford to pay the judgment, to which Heard's lawyer answered, "Oh no. Absolutely not."
Currently, Heard has a net worth of -$6 million.
Between 2013-2019, Heard earned $10 million, with her highest-earning year being 2019. Her earnings for that year were $3 million.
Heard was paid $1 million for the first Aquaman, and she earned $2 million for Aquaman 2. She also earned $200,000 per episode of "The Stand."
Court testimony also revealed that Heard has a four-picture with Warner Brothers that paid her $450,000 for the first movie she appeared in for the studio.
Testimony revealed that Heard had a $1.625 million two-year contract with L'Oreal that guaranteed the beauty company 20 days of Heard's time.
In 2016, she received a $7 million settlement from Depp after their divorce and pledged to donate to charities, including the American Civil Liberties Union.
Heard said during the trial that she had not yet fulfilled the pledge due to Depp's lawsuit, according to a CBS News report.
Amber Heard-Johnny Depp Trial
Entertainment industry expert Kathryn Arnold testified in the defamation trial, giving information on how Heard's career was affected by her ongoing legal battles with her ex-husband.
Newsweek reported that Arnold testified that Jason Momoa actually fought for his co-star to reprise her role in the Aquaman sequel after the studio expressed doubts about Heard's return.
Arnold said that "defamatory statements" pushed movie studios to be wary of working with Heard on new projects.
The expert witness continued to say that the only reason Heard went back for her role in Aquaman 2 was that Momoa and director James Wan pushed for her return.
Heard earlier testified that she had to "fight really hard" to keep her role in the sequel after a series of negative press about her and her involvement in the previous libel trial with Depp.
Arnold also noted that Momoa was given a chance to renegotiate his salary for the second movie from $3 million to $15 million, while Heard's $2 million payment was not up for negotiation.
