Netflix Is Looking for Candidates for Real-Life 'Squid Game' Competition | Here Are the Requirements to Become a Multimillionaire
Netflix is launching a reality TV competition based on the hit South Korean series "Squid Game," and participants could have a chance to win millions of dollars.
According to Milenio, Netflix is now looking for candidates, and the challenge will see 456 people competing for the big prize money.
The announcement was made by Netflix on its Instagram account on Tuesday night, dropping a video teaser about the "biggest reality show ever."
Unlike in the TV series wherein the life of a loser is being taken, Netflix said the "Squid Game" competition would not harm anyone, and the worst thing that can happen is participants will go home "empty-handed."
"Win or lose, all players will come out unscathed, but if you win, you'll win a lot," the streaming behemoth said in its announcement.
The winner of "The Squid Game: The Challenge" will get the prize money of $4.56 million.

Requirements to Participate in the 'Squid Game' Competition
The organizers of the said reality show are reportedly looking for "Anglophone participants" from all over the world who are 21 years old or older.
Aspiring "Squid Game" reality show participants should also be able to participate in the competition for up to four weeks, which is currently scheduled for early 2023, and be willing to travel to all the necessary places.
Participants should also not be employed or engaged or a relative of an employee or someone engaged with the All3 Media Group and/or Netflix. Contestants must also hold a valid passport for the whole period of filming if selected.
U.K. applicants can head to this site, while U.S. applicants can apply here. Global participants can go to this site.
"Squid Game" applicants must also submit a one-minute video about themselves, why they want to compete, their game plan, and what they would do with the prize money if they won.
At least two pictures, including one headshot and one full-length, must also be submitted. That's it. You'll then have to wait to see if you get the green light to run.
Netflix Confirms 'Squid Game' Season 2
Netflix confirmed on Sunday that "Squid Game" will return for a second season. According to The Guardian, the teaser of "Squid Game" season 2 showed some hints about what will come in the hit Korean dystopian drama series.
"Squid Game" featured various characters who played children's games for a grand prize of 45.6 billion won or a total of US$38.7 million. However, the competition's losers faced deadly consequences.
The NetFlix series has quickly become a cultural phenomenon. It was created and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk. "Squid Game" became the streaming platform's most popular series debut ever.
The series had inspired countless memes and Halloween costumes and kickstarted sales of green tracksuits.
