Elon Musk's child has filed a request to change her name in accordance with her new gender identity. Vivian Jenna Wilson said she no longer wants to live with or wish to be related to her biological father "in any way, shape, or form," as reported by the Los Angeles Times.

Reuters reported that the petition for both a name change and new birth certificate showing her new gender identity was filed with the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Santa Monica.

The Tesla CEO's child has asked the court to change her gender recognition from male to female and to register her new name. Musk's child recently turned 18, which is the age of consent in California. Her new name was redacted in the online document. Her mother is Justine Wilson, who divorced Musk in 2008.

Musk has yet to comment on the matter.

Vivian Jenna Wilson is among the five children Musk shares with Wilson, who is a writer. He also has two children with musician Grimes.

Musk has earlier faced criticisms after scrutinizing the use of preferred pronouns for transgender and nonbinary people.

In 2020, he tweeted that he absolutely supports trans, "but all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare," adding that "pronouns suck."

Musk has also declared his support for the Republican Party, whose elected representatives support a series of legislation that would limit transgender rights in the country.

He has also expressed on Twitter that he is leaning toward supporting Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the 2024 presidential election.

Musk tweeted on Sunday a Father's Day greetings, which was followed by another tweet that reads "I love all my kids so much," according to a CNN News report.

Meanwhile, he and his former partner Grimes had revealed that they intend to practice gender-neutral parenting while raising their child.

After long deliberation of a Twitter buyout deal, Musk said he does not care about being the company's CEO during his first meeting with Twitter employees this week.

Musk said during the hour-long meeting obtained by Business Insider that there are a lot of "chores to being CEO," adding that he just wants to ensure that the product evolves "rapidly and in a good way."

The Tesla CEO said he does not really care about the title, but "people do need to listen to" him.

Musk earlier said at The Wall Street Journal's 2021 CEO Council Summit that all of the titles are "just basically made up."

He explained that he is more preoccupied with engineering and production than the administrative and operational tasks that usually come along with the CEO title.

Musk is seeking to buy Twitter for $44 billion, which is a huge acquisition with huge effects on the social media platform.
