After winning an NBA Title with the Golden State Warriors, Mexican NBA star Juan "JTA" Toscano-Anderson is taking his talents to Hollywood, as he signs with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Golden State chose not to extend a qualifying offer to the 29-year-old Mexican basketball star.

However, L.A. would pick him up soon after, as Yahoo! Sports reports that his agent told them that he has reached an agreement with the Los Angeles Lakers. This means that he will be donning the Purple and Gold very soon.

Juan Toscano-Anderson Happy to Win Ring with Hometown Team Golden State Warriors

Anderson grew up in Oakland, California, and loved the Golden State Warriors. They are his hometown team, as the Dubs not only represent Oakland and San Francisco but the entire Bay Area. And when the Warriors picked him up a few years ago, he was elated. And now he has fulfilled his dream of winning a championship with them.

He said he is now stamped in the Town and his country, Mexico, as well as a legend in both. And with his time with the Warriors, he became a fan favorite being an Oakland native who grew up on East Oakland's 95th Street. He also made his Mexican brothers proud as he represented his bloodline with pride.

But with him moving to L.A., the Oakland native tweeted an emotional and heartfelt message to the Dub Nation, saying that he cannot thank them enough.

NBC Sports reports that the Warriors are experiencing a few financial concerns despite winning the NBA Championship. It was originally believed that the Warriors would sign the Bay Area native, but because of these financial problems, the team would choose not to go forward with these plans to re-sign the Mexican. Toscano-Anderson would accept this and say that it was out of his control and said he is still grateful to the Warriors organization.

Mexican Basketball Star Juan Toscano-Anderson Moving to Team with Large Latino fanbase

While Golden State had been his home all his life, it was time to move on to a different team, as he will be playing with Lebron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. Toscano-Anderson also released a tweet looking forward to his move to Los Angeles and playing for the Lakers.

And the fans are welcoming him with open arms, especially the Latino fans with an actual Mexican citizen proudly representing them on the court. Los Angeles has a sizeable Hispanic population, and the Lakers know this fact. According to ESPN, the team has made an effort in making games more accessible to their Hispanic audience by broadcasting games in Spanish. They have been doing this for over two decades now, and are the first NBA team to do so. They have also blazed the trail for Hispanic outreach and have signed notable players who are actually fluent in Spanish like Kobe Bryant and Spaniard Pau Gasol. JTA would be the latest addition to the list

Toscano-Anderson graduated from Marquette in 2015 and spent four years of his professional career with the Santa Cruz Warriors, the Golden State Warriors' G League affiliate. He would prove himself on the court in Santa Cruz until the Big League came back knocking. JTA spent parts of the last three seasons bouncing between Santa Cruz and San Francisco, before finally getting more playing time with Golden State. Over the last three seasons, JTA would average 4.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 0.7 steals per game. Oh, and he also won a ring with them, and that is very important.
