Texas Deputy Says Arrest of Kaitlin Armstrong in Costa Rica Was a 'Good Time'; Claims Yoga Teacher Might Change Appearance
A Texas deputy claimed that the arrest of yoga teacher Kaitlin Armstrong, a suspect in the death of cyclist Anna Moriah Wilson, was perfect timing. The officer claimed that she could further alter her appearance if it was done at a later time.
In an interview with the "TODAY Show," Austin, Texas' Deputy Marshall Brandon Filla noted that Armstrong made the changes to throw off law enforcement officials from identifying her in Costa Rica, according to the Daily Mail.
Filla also indicated that Armstrong may have attempted to get tattoos to make her more unidentifiable. He previously confirmed that the murder suspect cropped her hair to shoulder length and dyed it dark brown to resemble her sister.
The Texas deputy made his comments after an eyewitness alleged that he saw a receipt belonging to Armstrong that indicated she had undergone cosmetic surgery.
Costa Rica eyewitness Zachary Paulsen previously told Inside Edition that he had found a $6,350 receipt for cosmetic surgery procedure among her possessions, according to Fox News. The receipt was found at Don Jon's Surf and yoga Lodge, where she stayed with a different name.
It did not indicate what kind of procedure was done on Armstrong. However, Paulsen pointed out that she had bandages on her nose.

Costa Rica Witness Claims Kaitlin Armstrong Left 2 Passports
Paulsen also alleged that Armstrong left behind two American passports in a locker where she stored her things. One of the passports bore her name, and the other seemingly belonged to her lookalike sister, Christine Armstrong.
A source revealed to the Daily Mail that Kaitlin arrived in Costa Rica on June 8.
Kaitlin reportedly used the name "Ari" during her stay in Santa Teresa. Fellow guests described her as a loner.
The source also noted that the staff has repeatedly turned down her requests to work as a yoga instructor. However, she has been able to teach in Santa Teresa during the regular yoga teacher's off.
Kaitlin Armstrong Extradited to Texas
On Saturday, Kaitlin Armstrong was extradited to Texas from Costa Rica. U.S. Marshals escorted the then fugitive yoga teacher in handcuffs through George Bush International Airport in Houston to a vehicle waiting outside the airport.
Armstrong was booked in Harris County Jail and will remain there until she is transferred to Austin. Her bond was set for $3.5 million, and she will be subjected to GPS monitoring and an 8 p.m. curfew if she files the bail.
Armstrong was slammed with a homicide arrest warrant on May 17, after a vehicle like hers was recorded on video near the home where cyclist Ana Moriah Wilson was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds.
Armstrong was also issued an arrest warrant over alleged unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. This month, another federal arrest warrant claimed that shell casings found at the murder scene in Texas matched the two handguns found in a home she shared with cyclist Colin Strickland, who is her boyfriend.
Wilson was reportedly caught in a love triangle with Strickland and Armstrong, and investigators believe that her death may have been a violent act of romantic jealousy.
