Prince Harry and Meghan Markle experienced separate incidents of security breaches in their California home, with the occurrences being less than two weeks apart.

Daily Mail reported that the Sussex couple were believed to be at their home in Montecito, California with their children Archie, 2, and one-year-old Lilibet when the intruder alert was triggered.

Police in Santa Barbara were reportedly deployed to the $13.8 million California mansion of Harry and Markle on May 19, which happened to be the couple's fourth wedding anniversary.

Police noted the incident as trespassing, property crimes, and suspicious circumstances.

Intruders in Sussex Couple's California Home

The police have returned to the couple's residence after a second intruder alert was triggered on May 31, which was hours before the Sussex family boarded a private jet to the U.K. for the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth. It was also recorded as "trespasser," "property crimes," "and suspicious circumstances," according to an Express News report.

Police records showed that there have been six security alert calls to Harry and Markle's home in the past 14 months.

In 2021, police were deployed to the site at 2:52 a.m. after a call. However, it was called off as "no assistance was needed."

During 2022 New Year's Day, the alarm was "mistakenly tripped" at 1:43 a.m., and a squad car was sent. It was not clear if Harry and Markle were at home at the time.

On April 8, police were also called at 10:41 a.m. but did not attend as the call "belonged to another agency."

It was not the first time that the Sussex family experienced security breaches in their California home. A man allegedly trespassed the Sussex property before returning on Boxing Day and was arrested on Christmas Eve 2020.

Royal expert Angela Levin, Harry's biographer, noted in a The Sun report that Harry should probably focus more on the family's security in California "rather than making complaints about his security in Britain."

Harry filed a legal action in September 2021 for a judicial review after his U.K. security was withdrawn.

Prince Harry and U.K. Security Removal

Harry was allowed to take his concern to court over his security details in the United Kingdom, according to a London judge on Friday.

Harry and Markle lost publicly funded U.K. police protection when they chose to leave their senior royal roles and moved to California in 2020.

CBS News reported that the British prince was eyeing to pay personally for police security when he visits Britain. He is challenging the government's refusal to allow it.

However, a date has not been scheduled for the case to be heard.

Harry's lawyers argued that their client is having doubts about bringing his children to the U.K. because "it is not safe."

He proposed paying security fees from his own pocket, noting that his private security detail in the United States does not have enough jurisdiction abroad or access to U.K. intelligence information.

The Sussex family has reportedly hired a security team composing Barack Obama's former bodyguard Christopher Sanchez and Michael Jackson's former security chief Alberto Alvarez.
