Porn Star's Revenge Tweet Forces GOP Staffer Adam Kuhn to Resign: 'Ruby Adultstar' Posts Steve Stivers Aide's Private Parts on Twitter
A porn star's tweet of an explicit photo prompted Ohio GOP Rep. Steve Stivers' chief of staff, Adam Kuhn, to resign from his position.
Kuhn was a longtime aide to the politician before he resigned on Tuesday. Adam is single, while the porn actress is married. The reported photo, according to Politico, has since been deleted but Adam thought this was not enough, prompting him to leave his position.
Courtney Whetstone, a spokesperson for Rep. Steve Stivers said in an e-mail that the Congressman had accepted Kuhn's resignation. However, they refused to comment further since the matter touched upon the former aide's personal life.
The aide played a key role in the congressman's campaigns for a number of election cycles, including a position as campaign manager in 2010. He was eventually appointed as deputy chief of staff for Stivers in 2011 and then rose to the position of chief of staff shortly thereafter. According to the payroll disbursement records of the House of Representatives, Kuhn had an annual salary of $130,000.
Meanwhile, Adam Kuhn released his own statement on Politico, offering an apology for his actions. He admitted to having had a personal relationship with the woman whom he also said attacked him online. Kuhn took it upon himself, saying that he had used "poor judgment" in the decisions he made in his personal life, especially regarding the relationship. He further stated that the woman had reached out to him as well to apologize.
The issue began last week then Jennifer Roubenes Allbaugh, who also goes by "Ruby" as one of her stage names in adult films, tweeted a photo of Kuhn's private parts to Stivers' Twitter account. She confirmed that it was really she who sent the tweet.
According to the actress, she was upset about their breakup after Kuhn ended their relationship for undisclosed reasons.
