Olivia Newton-John's Niece Shares More Details About the 'Grease' Star's Final Days
Olivia Newton-John's niece shared more information about the "Grease" star's final days.
Speaking to Australia's 9 Now News a day after Olivia's death, Totti Goldsmith noted that the singer-songwriter's death did not surprise them.
Totti gave a glimpse of Olivia's final days, saying it was not only cancer that affected her health, according to E! News.
"It wasn't just the cancer that got her. It was other complications, being in a hospital and with a very susceptible immune system... She got secondary infections," Totti noted, adding that the actress "went down in the past five, six days."
Olivia's niece also revealed that the actress took cannabinoids to relieve her pain, but her pain continued to intensify, and the drug was not enough to provide relief.
Totti also shared that she had a chance to talk to Olivia before she died through Facetime with the help of the actress' husband, John Easterling, as she could not come to the United States at the time.
"He [John] got me on Facetime, so I managed to see her. I told her all the things I needed to say. She was leaving us, but I could feel like she got it," Totti said.
Olivia's niece further noted that the singer-songwriter told her she was not afraid of dying as she had done more in her life than she could have ever imagined.
