Angelina Jolie's FBI Lawsuit Leaked to Cause 'Pain' on Brad Pitt [REPORT]
A source close to Brad Pitt accuses actress Angelina Jolie of leaking the FBI report to cause him hurt by making details public of the 2016 fight, which prompted their divorce.
People reported that Jolie anonymously submitted a Freedom of Information Act request earlier this year.
The redacted FBI report had the actress alleging that Pitt was "menacing" toward her and her children while drunk on Sept. 14, 2016, on a flight from France to Los Angeles.
In November, investigations regarding the matter were closed with no charges made.
One source close to the "Bullet Train" actor claimed that both Pitt and Jolie had the documents in possession for six years, adding that Jolie likely meant to bring back an issue "that was painful for everybody and was resolved six years ago."
The source said they investigated the matter, prepared the materials, reviewed it, and decided not to charge Pitt.
The person close to Pitt said there is no benefit in reviving the issue, with it being harmful to the children and the entire family.
Angelina Jolie FBI Leak
Angelina Jolie reportedly told FBI officials that Brad Pitt yelled at her, "grabbed her by her head," and shook her. The actor then allegedly pushed her into the bathroom wall and repeatedly punched the ceiling of the plane about 90 minutes into the private flight.
It then made a pitstop in Minnesota and continued to Los Angeles, according to a Rolling Stone report.
The couple's children were also involved in the altercation. One of their children allegedly called Pitt a "prick," which then resulted in him closing in on the minor "like he was going to attack," according to FBI documents.
Jolie then grabbed her husband around his neck with her arms alike in a chokehold manner.
The actress told investigators that Pitt reportedly threw himself back, which pushed her into seats behind them and caused her injury to her back and elbow.
The redacted FBI document alleged that Pitt consumed multiple alcoholic beverages, even pouring beer on Jolie and the blanket she was under.
Jolie also claimed that the plane had $25,000 worth of damage from spilled red wine when the plane landed.
A statement of probable cause was drafted and given to the chief of the Criminal Division of the Los Angeles Attorney's Office before Pitt was announced not to be charged with assault.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Divorce
Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt in September 2016, ending their 12-year relationship and two years of marriage. The actress also requested sole custody of their kids. She cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the divorce.
The Cut noted that there were various reports surrounding the couple's separation, such as anger problems and consumption of weed and alcohol.
Pitt's camp denied the allegations at the time, saying that he is a "loving and devoted father" who would never put his children in any harm. The actor said at the time that what matters most is their children's well-being despite being saddened by the situation.
