Alec Baldwin Says He Lost Multiple Acting Jobs After 'Rust' Shooting Incident, Blames Assistant Director and Props Manager
Alec Baldwin said he lost multiple acting jobs following the "Rust" shooting incident that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during filming in New Mexico last year.
In an interview with CNN on Friday, Baldwin noted that he was booted out from five acting jobs after the tragic incident, Marca reported.
"There I was all set to go to a movie, jump on a plane ... I've been talking with these guys for months and they told me yesterday we don't want to do the film with you because of this," Baldwin said.
The actor noted that the stress he experienced following the "Rust" shooting incident has "taken years off my life." He then thanked his wife, saying if not for her, he would have probably quit, retired, or sold everything he owned and "find something else to do, [like] sell real estate."
On Tuesday, Baldwin told Chris Cuomo in his podcast "The Chris Cuomo Project" that the real tragedy was Hutchins' death, and he did not feel like he was the victim of the situation.
"I'm not the victim here. Things for me are gonna get better... gonna get cleared up. I'm a thousand percent confident about that," Baldwin noted.
"Everything we've said doesn't matter - me, my positioning, the press... The real tragedy here is what happened to this woman," he added.

Alec Baldwin Points Fingers in New 'Rust' Shooting Incident Interview
In the same interview, Alec Baldwin told CNN that he was not to blame for Halyna Hutchins' death despite a shot from a gun he was holding.
Baldwin noted that someone put a live bullet in the gun, referring to Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the armorer and props manager on "Rust." He said it was Gutierrez-Reed's job to look at the ammunition and put in the blank round or dummy round.
The actor noted that there should not have to be any live rounds on the set. Baldwin also blamed assistant director David Halls, who gave him the gun and declared it "cold" or loaded with non-live rounds.
The actor said Gutierrez-Reed and Halls did not do what they were supposed to do. Baldwin then said: "I'm not sitting there saying I want them to... go to prison or I want their lives to be hell. I don't want that. But I want everybody to know that those are the two people... responsible for what happened."
Alec Baldwin Says He 'Didn't Pull the Trigger' on 'Rust' Movie Set Where Halyna Hutchins Died
In December, the actor claimed he "did not pull the trigger" on the "Rust" film set where Halyna Hutchins tragically died. Alec Baldwin issued this comment during an interview with ABC News with George Stephanopoulos.
He said he did not discharge the bullet that killed an individual on their movie set. Halyna Hutchins died on October 21 after the actor discharged a prop gun on the "Rust" movie set.
Director Joel Souza was also injured and hospitalized, but he survived. No one has yet to be arrested or charged for the death of Halyna Hutchins as the investigation continues on how the tragic shooting occurred.
