A commotion at a Daddy Yankee concert in Chile had prompted authorities to use water cannons against the crowds on Tuesday night.

According to BBC News, Chilean police used the water cannons after some 4,000 people forced their way into the concert at Santiago's national stadium. Police said the barriers were torn down, staff attacked, and cars outside the stadium were damaged.

Some social media videos showed concertgoers running through security gates and joining a crush of people inside the venue of the Daddy Yankee concert.

Local media reported that two private security firms are currently facing criminal charges. Chile's crime prevention department minister, Eduardo Vergara, said there will be an investigation into whether the event organizers complied with safety requirements, including having enough security guards at the venue.

Organizer Bizarro Live Entertainment noted that the show engaged in "strict security and logistics protocol." It further noted that the company has doubled its staffing levels and planning efforts to deal with the "wave of violence and crime" currently being seen across the country.

It includes the appearance of organized crime groups dedicated to counterfeiting tickets and "coordinating avalanches at doors."

Daddy Yankee Concert in Chile

The Daddy Yankee concert on Tuesday night was the first of the three shows of the Puerto Rican reggaeton artist at Santiago's national stadium in Chile as part of his farewell concert tour La Última Vuelta World Tour.

Reports said the doors opened at 4 p.m. so fans could enter the venue, and at 8 p.m., guest artist Polima Westcoast took the stage, while Daddy Yankee started to perform at 9:30 p.m.

However, the Bizarro events organizer announced on social media the closing of one of the entrances due to some unfortunate incidents. It noted that some people attacked their security staff, ticket validation team, and production teams.

One video on social media showed security attendants trying to stop people from entering the gates. However, they were pushed out of the way.

According to authorities, thousands of people entered without tickets, which overcrowded the venue and blocked emergency clearways. On the other hand, people who bought valid tickets were not able to get to their seats.

Daddy Yankee Fraud Case in Chile

Daddy Yankee is reportedly facing a legal setback in Chile. Reports said the Puerto Rican rapper will have to testify before the Chilean police for a fraud complaint that has been dragging since the cancellation of the three concerts in the country in 2018.

The complaint was filed by Cristian Argomedo, the owner of the Empire Digital production company, which was supposed to bring Daddy Yankee to Chile in 2018 to perform three shows. The camp of Argomedo said a breach of contract led to the cancellation of the three concerts, BioBioChile reported.

They accused the Puerto Rican singer of "fraud," saying the businessman paid Daddy Yankee $500,000 before canceling the planned concerts. Argomedo's lawyer Juan Pablo Buono-Cuore further noted that there was also a falsification of signatures, adding that the artist and his manager committed a crime.

Buono-Core said Daddy Yankee canceled the concerts, decided not to fulfill the contract, and did not return the initial sum paid to him. The Empire Digital company filed a $3.6 million civil lawsuit.
