Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been told that their Netflix deal could be shut down if they are unhappy with what they produce. The officials of the streaming behemoth allegedly told the couple about it.

An industry insider made the claim regarding the $100 million signed contract, adding that the Sussex couple were told that there are no "guarantees" that what they create will air on the video-streaming platform, according to the U.S. Sun report.

The uncertainty in their Netflix deal could mean that Prince Harry and Markle could end up losing millions as they are yet to launch a show on Netflix.

The two reportedly want to edit the content produced for their new docuseries. Harry and Markle allegedly wished to review the tone of some statements and possibly delay its release until 2023 despite being scheduled for release later this year.

Executives have "final edit" decisions, including a veto vote on their client's proposal or end the Netflix deal.

A Los Angeles-based Netflix consultant told the media outlet that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex "are in a tricky place right now," adding that Netflix has the final say on what they would air as "no talent is greater than Netflix."

The industry insider said that development deals in Hollywood end in killed deals "all the time."

The source explained that while the Sussex couple is high profile, "this deal is a business transaction."

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Netflix Deal

Netflix has already backed out from Markle's project, Pearl, after it decided that the content was not what it wanted.

Geo TV News noted that the Sussex couple were urged by thousands of royal fans to cancel their Netflix deal due to portrayals of some royal family members in Netflix's "The Crown." Since then, Harry and Markle have received backlash after they signed the multi-million-dollar deal with Netflix.

Harry and Markle reportedly filmed docuseries on their lives in Montecito as part of their Netflix deal as they raise their two children, Archie and Lilibet. However, they requested major edits to the footage in light of the queen's death, with many assuming the footage includes their relationship with the royal family.

A source reportedly claimed that Harry and Markle are trying to tone down much of what they have said about King Charles, Camilla, and the Prince and Princess of Wales.

The Cut reported that the Netflix filmmakers are reportedly fighting to keep the footage in production.

Another source claimed that the duke and duchess "made significant requests to walk back content they themselves have provided."

Netflix Docu-Series

Multiple sources noted that Netflix will stick to its decision and show the Sussex docuseries in early December, as reported by Page Six.

Harry and Markle have been filming for more than a year with Brooklyn director Liz Garbus. They are believed to have talked a lot on camera about the royal family.

One Netflix source told Page Six that the video-streaming platform needs a couple of months for the formatting, dubbing, subtitling, and audio.

Meanwhile, the Duke of Sussex's memoir still does not have a publication date.
