Stimulus Check 2022: How to File Your Tax Return and Get $1400 Stimulus Money, $3600 Child Tax Credit Fast
The IRS has started using direct deposits to send out tax return, child tax credit, and stimulus checks for 2022.
You can use up to three accounts to receive your refunds, and there are other options in case you do not have a checking account for direct deposit. Direct deposit is also available for tax returns filed after their due date.
According to the IRS, eight out of ten taxpayers get their refunds by direct deposit. It is simple, safe, and secure.
Almost 98 percent of all Social Security and Veteran's Affairs payments are sent to millions of accounts using the same electronic transfer system.
Combining direct deposit with electronic filing is the fastest way to get your refund. There is no chance that it will be uncashed, lost, stolen, or destroyed.
The IRS sends out more than nine out of 10 refunds in less than three weeks. People who got their tax returns through direct deposit also got their stimulus money faster.
You can use our Where's My Refund? tool to find out where your refund is.
It is easy to use direct deposit. Just choose it as your refund method in your tax software and type in the account number and routing number, or tell your tax preparer you want a direct deposit.
Even if you are one of the few people who still files on paper, you can use direct deposit. Check your entry twice to make sure there are no mistakes.

The IRS Is Sending Out Letters to Those That May Have Missed Out on Tax Credits
The IRS is notifying more than 9 million households in letters this month that they might have missed out on important tax credits.
The IRS said that it had found people who do not usually file tax returns and seem to have "very low incomes" by looking at their W-2 or 1099 records and statements.
The government is telling these people that they must file a tax return by 2021 to get their money, NJ noted.
Some of the benefits are the $1,400 stimulus money, the $3,600 child tax credit, and the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).
"The IRS wants to remind potentially eligible people, especially families, that they may qualify for these valuable tax credits," IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig said.
"We don't want people to overlook these tax credits, and the letters will remind people of their potential eligibility and steps they can take."
The only way to get the payments is to file a 2021 tax return.
