The Kevin Spacey lawsuit has finally concluded after the Oscar award-winning actor was found not liable in a civil sexual misconduct trial on Thursday after more than an hour of deliberations by a jury in a New York Court.

The lawsuit was filed against Spacey by fellow actor Anthony Rapp. The civil lawsuit sought $40 million in damages.

Spacey said through his lawyer Jennifer Keller in a statement to Fox News that the actor is "grateful to live in a country where citizens have right to trial by impartial jurors."

Keller added that her client is grateful for the jury, adding that the group "was highly educated group of six women and five men."

Spacey's lawyer described the verdict as "swift and decisive."

Meanwhile, Rapp's legal team noted that they respect the jury's verdict and that they are "incredibly proud" of the actor's courage.

Kevin Spacey Lawsuit on Twitter

Twitter users have a say on the outcome of the lawsuit filed against Kevin Spacey, with one saying that a judge found the "Se7en" actor guilty in another harassment case.

The user added that around 30 men have come forward with their allegations against Spacey.

Another user echoed sentiments about the case, tweeting that Spacey was even penalized $31 million in another case.

The Twitter user said that it was the reason "abusive men rely on jury trials to absolve them."

NBC News tech and culture reporter Kat Tenbarge detailed what Spacey did in court in a tweet. Tenbarge said that the jury siding with the actor is something we have seen before.

Tenbarge had also mentioned the lawsuit wherein Spacey was ordered to pay $31 million over sexual harassment on the "House of Cards" set.

American actor Alex Winter had also taken to Twitter to express his opinions on the lawsuit against Spacey.

Winter said that he supports Rapp, adding that every survivor of childhood sexual abuse is "strengthened when one of us takes a public stand."

Kevin Spacey Vs. Anthony Rapp Lawsuit

Anthony Rapp alleged Kevin Spacey in the lawsuit of picking him up, with the actor placing Rapp on his bed and climbed on top of him.

Associated News noted that it happened when Rapp attended a party at Spacey's Manhattan apartment in 1986. Rapp was 14 at the time and was acting in the Broadway play "Precious Sons." Rapp testified that the 26-year-old Spacey held him down tightly, but he was able to get away and left the apartment.

The "Star Trek: Discovery" actor filed the lawsuit in 2020 and was seeking compensatory and punitive damages of up to $40 million.

Spacey posted on Twitter after the allegation were made public that he did not remember the Rapp encounter.

Spacey never came out as a gay man before the incident. His own lawyer suggested that Rapp filed the lawsuit because Rapp "grew bitter about not getting parts as an openly gay man."
