The newly leaked bodycam footage from the Uvalde school shooting shows responding police officers whining about the possibility of being shot outside the school, New York Post reported.

When a Texas school shooting occurred in May, about 400 police officers from various agencies were called to the scene.

They waited outside for more than an hour, though, while Salvador Ramos, 18, went on a killing spree inside the school.

The new Uvalde school shooting video from a body camera has been sent to Sinclair San Antonio. In the video, police officers talk about how they need to confront the gunman, but no one does. 

One of the clips shows ex-trooper Sgt. Juan Maldonado approaching. Maldonado was recently fired due to his actions on May 24.

"God, this is so sad, dude. He shot kids, bro," Maldonado said.

The video's dialogue shows troopers and law enforcement authorities were hesitant to enter the building.

Officer 1: "Want to jump the f-----g gate or what?"

Officer 2: "What is the safest way to do this? I'm not trying to get clapped out."

Officer 1: "Me neither."

Officer 2: "I called Mike and knows he's SRT. So, I think they got notified, so it will be on their way too. But I know that this is like something needs to be done like ASAP. And I also don't like standing right by the windows where we can get shot, bro."

Troopers can repeatedly be heard saying there are children in the room with the shooter and that some of them have been shot.

Officers are still baffled more than 40 minutes after the gunman entered the school, just a few feet from the classrooms where the shooter allegedly hid with the students and teachers.

Ari Jimenez, retired Homeland Security Agent in charge and now trains first responders in critical incident management, watched the video.

Police officers know that they will put themselves at risk when they take the oath, put on the badge, and carry the gun at their hip.

"This is what happens when teams do not train together," explains Jimenez. "Integrated response... fire, EMS, law enforcement ... this is what saves lives."

The threat was eliminated 77 minutes after the shooter entered the school. However, it is too late.

Uvalde Families Demand Top Texas Police Official Resignation

Because of his department's role in the slow police response to the Uvalde school shooting and its handling of the subsequent investigation, the Texas state police chief was under pressure to resign on Thursday at a hearing.

Steven McCraw, the state police director, was directly addressed by relatives of two of the children that are killed in the Robb Elementary School massacre on May 24. They accused him of bringing even more pain and suffering to Uvalde and wanted him to quit, New York Times reported.

Brett Cross, who raised his 10-year-old nephew Uziyah Garcia as his son until the child was killed in a classroom, said that McCraw lied.

He also said McCraw does not have control over his officers and is not the kind of boss their great state needs to run what used to be one of the best police departments.

In his statements, McCraw stated that if it were proven that his organization, the Department of Public Safety, had "as an institution" failed in its management of the shooting-which he claimed had not yet occurred-he would resign.

"DPS as an institution, right now, did not fail the community," Mr McCraw said.
