Paul Pelosi Attacker Spread QAnon Conspiracy Theories, Right-Wing Misinformation
In the months leading to his assault on the house of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, David DePape has been engaging in far-right conspiracies, antisemitism, and hate. He is also a holocaust denier and a QAnon conspiracy theorist.
DePape had a personal blog, and according to CNN, its topics included "Manipulation of History," "Holohoax," and "It's OK to be white." Aside from far-right conspiracy theories and antisemitism, DePape also posted antivaxx messages and conspiracy theories.
When he was arrested, his daughter, Inti Gonzalez, spoke to the Los Angeles Times and admitted that her father wrote the blog. She also stated that she and her mother are reeling from the news that her father was the one who attacked Nancy Pelosi's husband.
"I'm a little shocked," she said, "but not really that shocked, in all honesty."
He followed several right-wing conspiracy theorists online, as well as other more mainstream right-wing personalities like Glen Beck. He frequently included racial slurs in his blog posts, as well as talked about Pizzagate.

Paul Pelosi Tricked David DePape and Alerted Police Before Being Beaten With Hammer
The nation is stunned as the husband of Nancy Pelosi was beaten with a hammer in his own home. However, new details revealed that the 82-year-old man gave his attacker a hard time.
DePape attacked the Pelosi residence while the House Speaker was in Washington and Paul Pelosi was at home. The assailant broke into their house and confronted the elderly Pelosi. However, Paul managed to trick DePape and told him he needed to go to the bathroom. DePape agreed, and this was when Paul called 911. The dispatcher could hear Paul talking to his attacker and alerted authorities to the scene. The dispatcher stated in a released communication that there was a male in the home who was going to wait for his wife."
Law enforcement officials in San Francisco believed Paul Pelosi was intentionally giving coded information because the intruder knew Pelosi was on the phone. When they arrived, both men were struggling to gain control of the hammer. When officers ordered them to drop the weapon, only Pelosi complied, and this resulted in him being attacked repeatedly with the hammer by DePape. Police then tackled the attacker and placed him in custody.
The Los Angeles Times reported that the assailant was searching for Nancy Pelosi and kept on asking, "Where is Nancy?" Meanwhile, CNN reported that the suspect brought multiple zip ties and duct tape in a planned abduction of the house's more famous resident.
