Aaron Carter Death: Disturbing New Details Revealed About What Led to His Demise
More details as to what may have contributed to the tragic death of Aaron Carter are coming to light. The former teen pop star was making headlines for his erratic behavior before he died.
The cause of his death has not yet been confirmed. However, many suspect that he might have died due to substance abuse. According to Distractify, the "I Want Candy" singer was found dead inside his home in Lancaster, California on Saturday morning.
A housekeeper reportedly found his body inside a bathtub and called 911 for suspected drowning. Investigators said there was no evidence of foul play, making fans question whether his long history of addiction led to his death.
Page Six reported that law enforcement sources told TMZ on Monday that multiple cans of compressed air were found in Aaron's bathroom, as well as prescription pill bottles. Friends of the deceased singer believed he had relapsed into his addiction.
The American Addiction Centers said inhalant abuse or sniffing products like compressed air could cause permanent brain damage that can lead to irreversible neurological deficits.
This product can also lead to seizures, coma, and sudden cardiac death. Carter talked about his "huffing" addiction during a 2019 episode of "The Doctors." He said he started this habit when he was 16 because he was "stupid and sad."
"But this is really no excuse. I was huffing because I'm a drug addict," he noted. The singer said it was his sister Leslie Carter, who overdosed in 2012, who introduced him to this habit.
It was not clear if Aaron was battling with inhalant abuse at the time of his death. However, TMZ reported that cops showed up at his house last September for a welfare check after fans became concerned he was doing drugs during an Instagram Live.
Despite the screen going black, some fans claimed they could hear spraying and inhaling going on in the background. However, police reportedly did not observe any criminal activity at the time and found no drugs at the scene.
Before his death, Aaron's neighbors reported that they heard chilling screams "he's dead, he's dead" before homicide detectives arrived at his home. Police told TMZ they believe the late singer's body was in the tub for a long time, citing a smell of decomposition and discolored bathwater.
