Former U.S. President Donald Trump's attorney had something to say to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis right before the midterm elections.

During an interview on Right Side Broadcasting Network from a Trump rally in Vandalia, Ohio, Attorney Alina Habba said she likes what DeSantis is doing in the state of Florida, adding that DeSantis "needs to stay in Florida." The former president's attorney further noted that "DeSantis is DeSantis because of Trump."

Trump earlier endorsed DeSantis before he was rumored to have plans on running for the presidency in 2024.

Meanwhile, the Republican governor would not say whether he would back up Trump if the former president decides to take a chance again for reelection.

Trump earlier referred to the Florida governor as "Ron DeSantimonious" during a rally.

After casting his vote on Tuesday, Trump told reporters that he voted for DeSantis. A day before, he noted that he would make a "big announcement" next week at his Mar-a-Lago Florida home.

Donald Trump on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis

Meanwhile, Trump was reported to say that if DeSantis run, he will tell things about the Florida governor "that won't be very flattering."

He added that he knows more about DeSantis than anybody "other than perhaps his wife," who the former president described as the one "really running his campaign."

Trump has threatened business rivals and partners for decades. He was also known to issue threats to reporters and critics with lawsuits or the "possibility of being humiliated."

In 2016, Trump brought women who had accused former President Bill Clinton of sexual misconduct to his debate against Hilary Clinton.

He also tweeted a vague threat about Sen. Ted Cruz's wife in the Republican presidential primary in the same year.

Trump also had supporters that disseminated scandalous information about U.S. President Joe Biden's son Hunter.

One Trump campaign adviser told The Guardian that Trump was "going to attack" DeSantis and that it was "very true" that Republican supporters would not like the idea of DeSantis' wife running his campaign.

On Tuesday, Trump appeared to warn DeSantis during the election night watch party at Mar-a-Lago, saying that he is not sure DeSantis "would want to run."

Donald Trump on 2024 Elections

Trump was reportedly eyeing to launch his third presidential campaign at the Ohio rally. However, national Republicans advised him to hold off due to fears that his announcement could empower Democrats and possibly alienate independent voters.

He is expected to announce the launch of his 2024 presidential campaign on November 15 at his Mar-a-Lago residence.

A Trump spokesman has yet to confirm that the November 15 event will be about the presidential campaign launch.

On the other hand, the president has yet to formally announce his reelection campaign. There were reports that plans for it have already been solidified in recent weeks.
