Twitter Live: Furniture, Equipment to Be Auctioned Off From Its Headquarters
Twitter is eyeing to sell its headquarters' furniture and equipment in a live auction, with over 240 items listed for buyers to look at.
The items will be put on a live auction on Jan. 17, 2023, with bidders having a wide range of options, such as Eames lounge chairs, Knoll electrical desks and chairs, and digital whiteboards, among others.
Kitchenware is available, too, with the list including industrial-size espresso machines, ovens, refrigerators, and even a huge vegetable dryer.
Heritage Global Partners will be facilitating the live sale, with opening bids for all items priced between $25 and $50.
Twitter will also be putting iMac screens on sale, including standing desks, a projector, and an electric bike charging station.
Elon Musk said in a tweet on November 4 that Twitter has experienced a huge drop in revenue due to "activist groups pressuring advertisers," despite having nothing changed with content moderation.
The new Twitter CEO said they did everything they could to "appease the activists."
However, HGP president Nick Dove said in an interview that anyone who thinks the action is due to preserving finances "is a moron."
Dove said they do not determine which assets a company does not need.

Twitter fans can also get a three-foot Twitter Bird statue and a six-foot "@" sign with artificial plants that can be replaced with real plants.
The auction items also include pizza ovens, dozens of display screens, and gray swivel office chairs.
NBC Universal senior executive, Mike Sington, tweeted the contents of the auction site on his Twitter account.
Sington tweeted that Twitter is selling kitchenware and memorabilia, among others, adding that there is "no free lunch for Twitter employees anymore."
The live auction comes after Musk aims to reduce expenses after purchasing the social media platform for $44 billion.
The new Twitter CEO has also decreased other allotments such as infrastructure budgets, employee perks such as at-home Wi-Fi and travel allowances, and holiday pay for contractors.
Dove, however, said the revenue from selling some computers and chair will not pay for the "mountain" of payments for the Twitter procurement.
Musk imposed several changes ever since he took over Twitter, such as the firing of thousands of employees and the push towards a "hardcore" work culture.
Twitter Under Elon Musk
Musk has told several human-resource executives after he completed his Twitter buyout that they should prepare for "widespread layoffs," according to six people with knowledge of the discussion.
Musk reportedly noted at the time that the workforce of the social media platform should be reduced immediately.
Those who were part of the laid-off employees will not be given their bonuses, which were paid on November 1.
The Tesla CEO reduced 50% of the company's 7,500 workers. Executive resignations are also still ongoing.
Musk said in a recording that there is a "negative cash flow, and bankruptcy is not out of the question."
Meanwhile, the remaining Twitter employees found some offices and conference rooms in the company's headquarters had bare mattresses and curtains inside, according to two people familiar with the matter.
