After a 2-day hearing, Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson has finally decided on Kari Lake's lawsuit challenging the victory of Governor-elect Katie Hobbs (D) in Arizona.

The judge officially ruled that Lake could not prove that Maricopa County election officials committed intentional misconduct during the midterm elections and that the misconduct would be enough to change the election results.

In her lawsuit, the MAGA Republican candidate alleged that Maricopa County intentionally sabotaged her victory by tampering with election printers, causing them to malfunction. This allegedly made the county violate the chain of custody procedures, according to The Hill. However, Lake's legal team could not provide any sufficient evidence. 

Kari Lake Could Not Provide Sufficient Evidence to Back Election Fraud Claims

During the course of the trial, Kari Lake only criticized how Maricopa County managed the election. She also claimed that the long lines might have turned off some would-be Republican voters from voting.

She teased that she had a "bombshell," but the trial ended without any compelling evidence that would have swayed the case to her side.

The Arizona midterms showed a growing rift in the Arizona Republican party, with MAGA Republicans on one side, and McCain Republicans on the other. Lake has publicly blasted McCain Republicans, as well as Republican Maricopa County officials, who have been pushing back against her claims of voter fraud happening in the county.

The political situation in Arizona has become so toxic that Republican Maricopa County official Bill Gates was moved to an undisclosed location for his and his family's safety.

Arizona MAGA Republicans Refuse to Accept Defeat

After her latest legal defeat, Lake took to Twitter to say that she has provided evidence that proves that the "elections are run outside the law." She added that she will be appealing the ruling.

Lake has already publicly said that she may appeal to the Arizona Supreme Court, though legal experts might advise against that as this latest lawsuit was her fourth dismissal already, and the courts might be getting tired of her and may seek to sanction her and the Republican party.

After the ruling, the lawyers for Maricopa County, as well as Governor-elect Hobbs, are saying they will be seeking sanctions against Lake as her lawyers only presented "conspiracy theories" and "sour grapes" during the entire trial, according to the Daily KOS.

Lake has admitted during the Turning Point USA Conference in Phoenix that some of her lawyers have already walked out from the case as they feared sanctions, fines, and even disbarment.

According to Arizona Central, Judge Thompson acknowledged that anger and frustration on the side of voters arose from the confusion at voter centers when technical problems were happening during the midterm elections. However, he wrote that even with the public outcry, especially with the MAGA Republicans, the decision was "subject to Plaintiff's claims and Defendants' actions to the light of the courtroom and scrutiny of the law."

Despite this, many Lake's MAGA supporters still say the election was stolen and their candidate should have won, as shown by the overwhelming number of replies to her tweet about appealing the ruling.
