Social Security Update: Here's What to Do if You Didn't Receive Your $4,194 December 2022 Payment
Many Social Security payment beneficiaries have been expecting to receive this month's beneficiary payments worth up to $4,194 since Wednesday.
The Social Security Administration (SSA) pays Social Security benefits monthly. If you are a retired worker, the payment schedule for your benefits should be based on your birth date.
Those with birth dates between the 1st and 10th of the month will receive their benefits on the month's second Wednesday. Birth dates falling between the 11th and 20th usually receive their benefits on the third Wednesday.
If the beneficiaries' birth dates are from the 21st to the 31st, they will receive their benefits on the fourth Wednesday.
For those receiving both Security benefits and Supplemental Security Income, you will receive your SSI payment on the first of the month and your Social Security payment on the third of the month.
If your payment still misses the SSA schedule, there are steps you can take to ease your worries.

If your Social Security check did not arrive on the expected date, the SSA advises its beneficiaries to wait three additional mailing days before calling the agency.
However, if you still not receive it despite the waiting period, you can call 800-772-1213 and talk to a representative.
The SSA noted that wait times to speak with a representative are shorter on Wednesday through Friday and later in the day between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Social Security Payments December 2022
SSI recipients will be receiving a second check this month. It might confuse the recipients as the two SSI checks have different amounts.
SSI will send the check out on December 30, as January 1 is a holiday and falls on a weekend. As a rule, SSA sends out the checks on the nearest business day.
The second check should be higher than the amount you received earlier this month due to the COLA hike.
Recipients should see an 8.7% increase in the amount of their benefits. The recent COLA increase is considered to be the highest increase since 1981.
Due to SSA sending two SSI checks in December, SSI recipients will not receive a January check. Everyone else who receives Social Security payments will get their first check in January 2023.
The monthly maximum federal amounts for 2023 are $914 for an eligible individual, while an eligible beneficiary with an eligible spouse can get $1,371 for maximum federal amounts.
Meanwhile, Social Security benefits remain taxable, and tax brackets are also changing due to inflation. SSI payments are excluded from being taxed.
The COLA measurement was officially taken in July, August, and September, with the inflation reaching 9%, 8.6%, and 8.5%, respectively.
