And then there was only one. Two more co-hosts of the popular daytime show "The View" leave it as their contracts come up for negotiations.

The departure of Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy follows the retirement of "The View" host and creator Barbara Walters. The veteran host and news anchor decided to retire earlier this year and has prompted the departure of the other hosts, leaving only actress Whoopi Goldberg.

However, there are reports Shepherd was negotiating with ABC over a new contract and did not reach an agreement, prompting Shepherd's departure. The AP reports that sources close to the incident confirm the failed negotiations between the network and actress. Darrin Hatch, Shepherd's agent, also confirmed that she left because of failed contract negotiations.

In a statement released by Shepherd to The Wrap, she expresses her desire to move on to new projects.

"It's been seven wonderful years on The View and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on. I am extremely grateful to Barbara Walters and [executive producer] Bill Geddie for giving me the opportunity," Shepherd said in the statement. "I look forward to the business opportunities that lay ahead for me and I am incredibly grateful to my 'View' family and my fans for supporting me on this journey."

However, she is not the only embarking on a new journey. Co-host Jenny McCarthy will also be leaving the show following her own failed contract negotiations with ABC. The network confirmed McCarthy's departure in a statement emailed to USA Today.

"The View will be moving in an exciting new direction next season and ABC has made decisions to evolve the show creatively," the statement read.

McCarthy announced her support for Shepherd over the contract dispute via Twitter by saying, "If Sherri goes...I go too," followed by "#sisters." In another tweet she confirmed her departure:
