Spongebob Squarepants Online 2014: Krusty Krab Restaurant to Open in Palestine
Many dreams are becoming a reality in the Middle East. The famous eatery where Spongebob Squarepants diligently and passionately makes Krabby Patty Burgers will be opening soon in Palestine in a restaurant that appears to be following the décor to a tee.
The above-sea Krusty Krab is the brainchild of Salta Burgers, a Palestinian company, and will open sometime in the future in the Palestinian city of Ramallah, located in the West Bank, according to RYOT.
Shaped like a giant lobster trap, the Krusty Krab restaurant is coming to life almost identical to its cartoon template. The flags adorning the underwater restaurant have been painted on the Palestinian restaurant's roof. A statue of the miserly owner Mr. Krabs waves at passersby, while construction continues.
It is uncertain whether the company will fully mimic the restaurant with its shell-shaped sign and underwater cartoon animal workers -- it would be surprising to see Spongebob and his co-worker Squidward Tentacles greeting Ramallah's residents as they enter the restaurant. The company has not released any statement explaining a reason for their decision to create a real-life Krusty Krab restaurant, but it will undoubtedly be popular with children.
With its net-covered windows and air of authenticity, the restaurant will appear to everyone's inner child. The cartoon launched more than a decade ago in the United States and has become famous all over the world. Now, that fame has become evident in the real-life construction of the restaurant.
The restaurant's Facebook page claims a little over 2,000 likes, and according to the International Business Times, they are currently looking for cashiers, cooks, cleaners and security guards. Though the restaurant has no set date for opening, everyone in the world probably awaits the realization of the Krusty Krab.
