Lisa Marie Presley's Memorial Service in Graceland Gathered by Over a Thousand Mourners, Including Stars
Over a thousand people gathered in the cold and rain on a dreary Sunday to pay their respects to singer Lisa Marie Presley at the Memphis, Tennessee, the estate she inherited from her father, rock legend Elvis Presley.
Some mourners held flowers on the front lawn of Graceland on Sunday as the service began under the shade of the towering trees that formerly surrounded the house where Lisa Marie Presley spent her childhood, The Guardian noted.
During her father's funeral, Presley was praised as a devoted guardian of the rock 'n' roll tradition she inherited from her late father and as a loving mother and "old soul" who had the strength to persevere in the face of tragedy.
Since Elvis's death in 1977, his home has been a museum and tourist attraction, drawing in tens of thousands of admirers each year.
The funeral service began with Jason Clark & The Tennessee Mass Choir singing "Amazing Grace" on the property in south Memphis, setting the mood for the gloomy day.

Former Memphis mayor A. C. Wharton, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, manager Jerry Schilling, and Elvis Presley Enterprises managing partner Joel Weinshanker spoke at Lisa Marie Presley memorial service.
Elvis's assistant, producer, and Lisa Marie's manager, Schilling, shared memories of his time with "a girl named Memphis," as Schilling put it.
Schilling claimed he spent Christmas and New Year's at Graceland in 1967 and that Elvis urged him to stay until the birth of Lisa Marie in February 1968.
According to Schilling, Lisa Marie Presley asked him to walk the red carpet with her at the Golden Globes on January 10.
"Last thing she said to me was, 'Jerry Schilling, I love you,'" Schilling said.
Afterward, Priscilla Presley spoke softly and briefly, reading aloud a poem and some remarks written by her granddaughter Riley Keough, Lisa Marie's eldest daughter, CNN reported.
"Our heart is broken," Priscilla said. "Lisa, we all love you."
Keough also communicated with the public through a letter delivered by her husband, Ben Smith-Petersen, in which she said she has the best mother in the world.
Fellow Stars Performed at Lisa Marie Presley's Memorial Service Before She Was Laid To Rest
Lisa Marie Presley memorial service was complemented by music.
Billy Corgan, the front man for The Smashing Pumpkins, performed an acoustic rendition of "To Sheila" and "Rest" by Alanis Morissette. The Blackwood Brothers Quartet played two songs, then Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses played the piano and sang "November Rain," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
She was placed to rest in an above-ground tomb at Graceland's Meditation Garden beside her son Benjamin Keough, who passed away in 2020, and her grandparents and great-grandmother.
The path leading up to the grave and the tomb was lined with wreaths and bouquets of red, white, yellow, and pink flowers.
Tears welled in the eyes of several of the fans as they went slowly and respectfully past the tomb.
Lisa Marie Presley lost her father, Elvis, when she was nine. She remembered that her dad had kissed her goodnight a few hours before he passed away and that she was staying at Graceland. The next day, she found him face down in the restroom.
Lisa Marie passed away on January 12 at 54. She went into cardiac arrest at home earlier that day and was transported to a hospital in the Los Angeles region.
Actress Riley Keough and Finley and Harper Lockwood, twins aged 14, are her surviving children.
