Prince Andrew has reportedly told friends that a "mystery development" could save his reputation after the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, which led to his titles being revoked.

A source told the Daily Mail that there are details about to be made public in February, which will change people's perceptions of the 62-year-old Duke of York.

Andrew was stripped of his royal duties after revelations of his relationship with Epstein.

Andrew does not elaborate on his claims, but the source noted that he is set to launch a bid to overturn the multimillion settlement he reached with Virginia Roberts, who accused him of sexual assault.

It was reported that Andrew consulted lawyers to retract Roberts' allegations against him and possibly "secure an apology," the Daily Mail reported.

The Duke of York was reportedly inspired to act after Roberts dropped her lawsuit against another man she accused of sexual assault. She admitted that she "may have made a mistake" in identifying him.

However, Roberts maintained that her case against the duke was valid. Andrew has still claimed his innocence on the matter.

Ghislaine Maxwell recently spoke to TalkTV from prison about Andrew being a "dear friend," adding that the accusations against him were unfounded.

Ghislaine Maxwell said in her interview that the photograph of Prince Andrew with Virginia Roberts was a "fake."

The 61-year-old disgraced socialite noted that she does not believe it's "real for a second." She added that there has "never been an original," adding that she has no memory of going to Tramp nightclub.

Andrew has denied Virginia Robert's allegation that he was introduced to her at Tramp nightclub in London in 2001 with Maxwell.

Maxwell did not offer any apology to Jeffrey Epstein's victims in the interview, instead saying that the victims should "take their disappointment and upset out on the authorities," who allowed Epstein to die in prison.

She added that she believes the billionaire pedophile was murdered but offered no evidence to support her claims.

In 2019, authorities reported that Epstein died by suicide while waiting for his trial. Maxwell said she hoped the victims got "some closure" through the judicial process.

Queen Elizabeth stripped Prince Andrew's military affiliations and royal patronages as he continued fighting the lawsuit filed against him by Virginia Roberts.

Roberts accused the duke of having sexual relations with her when she was underage. It was during a period when Jeffrey Epstein was also abusing her.

She noted that she is holding Andrew accountable for what he did to her when she was 17 years old. A judge also tossed Andrew's bid to dismiss the lawsuit.

Due to the scandal, Andrew could no longer use the style "His Royal Highness" in any official capacity, according to reports.

More than 150 veterans of the Royal Navy, Air Force, and Army had called on the queen to remove all his titles and ranks in the armed forces.

The veterans' letter noted that Andrew had "fallen well short of" the military's highest standards regarding "probity, honesty and honorable conduct."
