As expected, Republicans have come out to present their takes and railed about the "woke agenda" soon after Super Bowl 57 concluded. One of them is Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who hit at the wokeness of the Super Bowl program.

The firebrand MAGA Republican was not too fond of the diversity shown during the Super Bowl program and took to social media to voice her displeasure, tweeting, "Chris Stapleton just sang the most beautiful national anthem at the Super Bowl, but we could have gone without the rest of the wokeness."

Stapleton sang his rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner," while Sheryl Lee Ralph performed "Lift Every Voice and Sing," and then Babyface sang "America the Beautiful," and of course, Rihanna performed the Super Bowl Halftime Show, according to Yahoo! News.

However, as she tweeted her praise for Stapleton for not being "woke," fans pointed out that the country music singer is actually an avid supporter of Black Lives Matter. In a 2020 interview, he admitted that the death of George Floyd changed his views about the country and voiced his support of the movement.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Gets Slammed on Social Media for Racism

After posting the controversial tweet, Greene was quickly criticized on social media, with former NFL player Kevin Aldridge questioning her about her apparent racism, tweeting, "So in MAGA terms all the black performers shouldn't have performed?!?!"

One of the biggest hits came from UFC fighter Mike Jackson, who downright called her a Nazi and hit at her "white fragility."

Meanwhile, many pointed out that the man she was praising in her tweet was a BLM ally who is known for his progressive views. Others also pointed out that she only praised the sole white performer during Super Bowl 57, with one Twitter user saying, "MTG is here revealing that when they say 'woke' it means they don't want to see or hear anything about non-white culture."

According to The Independent, many of the replies to her tweet pointed out her apparent racism and her "Culture War" talking points which also hit on the first all-female Navy flyover at the Super Bowl. One commenter even said that Greene should have just said what she really meant, which was, "You could've done without the black people."

Lauren Boebert Also Railed Against the Super Bowl

Another infamous House Republican who was complaining about the Super Bowl was Marjorie Taylor Greene's former friend and fellow MAGA Republican, Lauren Boebert, whom she had a very public spat with last month, culminating in a huge argument in a Capitol restroom.

According to Insider, Boebert complained about why the "Black National Anthem" was performed during the Super Bowl.

Sheryl Lee Ralph performed "Lift Every Voice and Sing," which is regarded as the "Black National Anthem." The performance received much praise, but the Colorado congresswoman questioned why it was even performed in the first place. She accused the NFL of trying to divide the country even further by choosing the hymn to be performed.

The hymn was written as a poem by the NAACP leader James Weldon Johnson in 1900. It became the rallying cry for Black Americans during the civil-rights movement as its lyrics called for strength, unity, and faith in God following the abolition of slavery. It was first incorporated in the Super Bowl in 2021.
