Missing Argentine Man's Body Found Inside a Shark; Family Identified Him by Tattoo
The remains of an Argentine man, who was reported missing, were found inside the belly of a shark caught by two fishermen in Chubut, Argentina.
According to Daily Mail, the remains of 32-year-old Diego Barria, who had been missing since February 18, were found inside a shark captured on Sunday. Barria, a married father-of-three, reportedly vanished after he went out for a ride on his all-terrain vehicle (ATV) near the coast in the southern Chubut province.
On February 20, a search team found his damaged ATV at a beach near Rocas Coloradas and a little farther away, his helmet split in two, but there was no sign of the Argentine man.
The two fishermen reported to the coastguard that they caught three school sharks around 8:30 a.m. on Sunday near where Barría's ATV was found. That was when the gruesome discovery happened as they discovered human remains inside one of those sharks.
The shark in which the human remains were found was reportedly 4.9 feet long. Barría's family confirmed that it was him due to a tattoo with the name "Josefina" inscribed.
One of the fishermen told the local newspaper Diario Jornada: "I was so unlucky that I found it myself... I went fishing and I open the shark's belly and I found a forearm with a tattoo." The last people to see Barria alive were three fishermen he greeted and another person.

Police in Argentina Believe Argentine Man Caught in an Accident
Cristian Ansaldo, head of the police department in Comodoro Rivadavia City, told local reporters that the human remains will also undergo DNA testing to officially confirm that they belong to Diego Barria.
Ansaldo noted that investigators have a theory on what happened to Barrea. The police chief said detectives believed he had an accident and "was dragged" out to the sea by a strong tidal surge that weekend as he was lying unconscious on the beach. Police are also investigating if another vehicle was involved, according to NBC News.
"One of the strongest hypotheses is that [Barría] collided with a rock [while driving the ATV] and that his body was carried away by the sea... but we are going to handle all the possible theories with the evidence found at the site," said Ansaldo, as the Associated Press reported.
Authorities are now working to find out how Barria ended up in the water and how it is possible that a shark ate him.
Argentine Man's Family Mourns His Tragic Death
According to PEOPLE, Diego Barria texted his wife Virginia Brugger before he disappeared, telling her he would be coming home later than expected. However, he did not return home for two days and did not respond to text messages or answer phone calls.
Thus, his relatives reported him missing. After hearing the tragic news, his wife posted a tribute on social media, saying, "My heart went with you! I love you forever."
