Fox News is in the middle of a scandal after Dominion revealed text messages between Fox News hosts and executives, including Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity, that they did not believe the lies about the 2020 presidential elections they were spreading.

In one message, Carlson reportedly messaged Hannity saying that he wanted a reporter fired after she fact-checked a claim by Donald Trump. That Fox News reporter was Jacqui Heinrich, who correctly refuted a Trump tweet about Dominion Voting Systems.

According to the Daily Beast, Carlson "went crazy" over Heinrich's fact-checking of Trump over election lies that he complained about it to Executive Vice President Meade Cooper, with Hannity telling his fellow Fox news host that he mentioned the matter to CEO Suzanne Scott, who in turn told other Fox News executives that Heinrich "has serious nerve doing this and if this gets picked up, viewers are going to be further disgusted."

This forced the reporter to delete the tweet that fact-checked Trump, and new information has revealed that she was blindsided when the text messages between the Fox News hosts were revealed when Dominion's legal filings were unsealed.

A person with direct knowledge of the situation revealed that she "was not aware of the efforts by top hosts behind the scenes to get her fired."

Capitol Police Also Blindsided After GOP Gave Tucker Carlson January 6 Tapes

Despite getting exposed for knowingly lying about the presidential elections, Tucker Carlson continues to spread misinformation, this time about the January 6 Capitol insurrection, calling the deadly riot "mostly peaceful."

Carlson received the tapes from House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and aired cherrypicked images that showed Trump supporters "peacefully" walking around the Capitol "like tourists." However, Carlson did not show footage of these same rioters beating up Capitol police officers while chanting, "Hang Mike Pence!"

Now, Yahoo! News has reported that House Republicans disregarded requests by U.S. Capitol Police to examine and approve every January 6 video clip they intended to make public. Capitol Police general counsel Thomas DiBiase stated, "That access was not previewed with the Capitol Police nor was the Capitol Police informed before that access was granted."

He added that he was informed that "Tucker Carlson Show" personnel were allowed to view whatever footage they wanted while supervised by staff from the Committee on House Administration, but no footage was physically turned over to the show's staff.

Fox News May Lose Friends and Viewers

Dominion is suing Fox News for $1.6 billion for spreading misinformation about the 2020 elections. Now, the conservative network is in danger of losing not just viewers but also many of its friends in high places.

According to The Guardian, the network's hold over the Republican party is waning, with the Murdoch family's position atop the Fox conglomerate could also be at risk because of the lawsuit. This comes as Fox News Chairman Rupert Murdoch admitted that the network let pro-Trump personnel like MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell spread election lies for the money.

As for viewers, the text messages revealed by Dominion in their filing revealed that Fox News hosts had secret contempt for their viewers, noting that they would believe whatever they said on air.

Former Tucker Carlson Show producer Alex Pfeiffer was caught talking about his viewers in those leaked text messages, saying that dealing with them was "Like negotiating with terrorists, but especially dumb ones. Cousin-fucking types, not Saudi royalty."
