Lionel Messi: Why Is the PSG Star Back in Argentina?
Lionel Messi is back in Argentina. It has caused chaos outside a restaurant in Buenos Aires after hundreds of fans flooded the streets on Monday night just to catch a glimpse at the man who ended an over three-decade drought at the World Cup.
The Paris Saint-Germaine star was back in his home country for an international friendly against Panama. He was supposed to have a quiet dinner with his family at the Don Julio restaurant in Palermo when fans found out he was there. Soon, the restaurant was mobbed by fans trying to see the country's national soccer hero.
It was so crazy that Messi had to get a police escort to get out of that massive crowd. TMZ Sports reported that people were trying to reach and grab the Argentina captain as he passed by that wild crowd of people. This also happened shortly before 2 a.m., which means a majority of Argentinians should have been asleep around that time.
Messi seemed calm, though, as the Argentinian legend was seen smiling at the fans as he was trying to get out with his family and police escort. He may have expected this much, as he has experienced how crazy the Buenos Aires crowd can get during their World Cup Victory party.
Lionel Messi on the Cusp of New Career Milestone in Friendly Vs. Panama
While he and his family were mobbed in a Buenos Aires restaurant, Lionel Messi must now shift his focus back to soccer on Thursday when Argentina faces Panama in a friendly. However, in that match, he may just have a career milestone with the team.
Lionel Messi currently has 799 career goals, as well as 98 all-time goals while wearing the sky blue and white. This means that he only needs to score one more goal to make it 800 career goals and two more for him to have 100 career goals with Argentina.

Lionel Messi Eyeing Bayern Munich After PSG Contract Expires?
After their latest elimination at the hands of Bayern Munich, Lionel Messi and Paris Saint-Germaine may be parting ways soon. However, rumors have popped up that Messi may pull a Kevin Durant move and join Bayern Munich as his PSG contract is expiring.
Late last year, Messi and PSG executives had a handshake agreement in Qatar that he would re-sign with the Paris team. However, talks broke down earlier this year, and Messi is already looking for a different team to take his talents to. One of them is Bayern Munich, according to SB Nation.
The rumors started when the Argentinian liked an Instagram post of Joshua Kimmich. This got fans wondering if he may be talking to the German Bundes Liga favorites now that rumors that he is seemingly unhappy in Paris are abound.
These are still rumors and must be taken with a grain of salt, as Messi's future in Europe seems rather uncertain as it is still not known where he will be landing after his PSG contract finally expires later this year.
