Aiden Fucci Sentencing Hearing: Killed Florida Cheerleader's Family Took Stand in Court
Aiden Fucci hears the statement of the family of murdered Florida cheerleader Tristyn Bailey during his sentencing hearing.
Fucci earlier pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the deadly stabbing of his classmate and is currently waiting for his sentence for his crimes.
Bailey's sister, Alexis, addressed Fucci, asking the teenager if he watched her sister die or if he left the victim in "agonizing pain" as he fled away from the scene, according to News 4 Jax.
Meanwhile, Fucci also made his plea on paper. It included letters that were written by Fucci's family members.
Fucci wrote to the judge, saying he was "sorry for all the pain" he caused the Bailey family. He also apologized to the victim's friends, brothers, sisters, mother, father, and any other family relatives.
Fucci's mother and father also wrote a letter of apology to the local community, saying that there are "no words to right this wrong." Fucci's father, Jason, wrote that the words do not exist "in this situation."
Fucci's mother, Crystal Smith, wrote to the Bailey family and the judge. She said that she grieves for the "devastating loss of Tristyn," the arrest of her son, and the "irreparable agony inflicted on the Bailey family."
She said that she also grieves for "Stacy Bailey as a mother," most of all.

Aiden Fucci Sentencing Hearing
Judge R. Lee Smith will decide how long Fucci's sentence would be for Bailey's slaying, which could be from 40 years to life in prison. Fucci's first-degree guilty plea does not qualify for a possible death sentence due to being a juvenile.
USA Today reported that the sentencing hearings for the case are expected to extend into the week, with possibly a couple more people to be called to testify.
Smith said that he will be releasing his decision on the matter within a week, adding that he will not be "dragging this out any longer than necessary."
Alexis dropped 114 teal-colored stones into a glass jar, which counts for each time Fucci stabbed her younger sister.
Bailey's brother, Teegan Bailey, also spoke during the sentencing hearing, saying he has "breakdowns" with the guilt of not being able to prevent his sister's death, feeling like he "failed" her.
Florida Cheerleader Slaying
Tristyn Bailey was reported missing on the day that she was supposed to help make a special Mother's Day breakfast for her mother. Her body was then found at around 6 p.m. that night near a retention pod at the end of Saddlestone Drive.
Bailey had been stabbed 114 times, including 49 defensive stab wounds on her arms and right hand, according to the sheriff's department.
The Independent noted that Sheriff Rob Hardwick described the crime as a "brutal murder," adding that it was their "worst nightmare."
Fucci was sitting in the back of a patrol car when he took a selfie and posted it on Snapchat with a caption asking, "anybody seen Tristyn lately?"
Investigators searched Fucci's home and found a sheath of a Buck knife in his bedroom, including white Nike shoes with bloodstains and a T-shirt with blood on it.
