Hailey Bieber is receiving so much hate that it has led to death threats. Now, her former romantic rival, Selena Gomez, has come to her aid. Taking to Instagram, the Latina superstar told everybody to stop the hate.

"Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity," she wrote. "This isn't what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I've always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop."

According to CNN, Hailey Bieber is under fire for a series of social media posts with her friend, Kylie Jenner. that many believe was a reference to Selena Gomez, who previously dated Hailey Bieber's husband, Justin Bieber. The rivalry went on between their respective fanbases even after Hailey married Justin Bieber.

Both fanbases have been at odds with each other so much that the two women snapped a photo with each other at last year's annual Academy Museum Gala held in Los Angeles in an effort to show that there is no hate between them.

Hailey Bieber Thanks Selena Gomez for Defending Her

Following the Selena Gomez Instagram post that defended her, Hailey Bieber also took to social media and reacted to that post.

"I want to thank Selena for speaking out, as her and I have been discussing the last few weeks about how to move past this ongoing narrative between her and I," said the embattled model and socialite. "The last few weeks have been very hard for everyone involved and millions of people are seeing so much hate around this, which is extremely harmful."

She noted that social media can create division instead of bringing people together and called out the people who may have taken her posts out of context, saying, "Things can always be taken out of context or constructed differently from what they were intended."

She ended her post by writing that, in the end, she believes that "love will always be bigger than hate and negativity and there is always an opportunity to meet each other with more empathy and compassion."

Following the posts by both women tied to Justin Bieber, fans took to social media and voiced their opinions. While some were just simply amused, others were not happy with Selena defending Hailey Bieber after she allegedly made fun of her. Meanwhile, others were praising the "Wizards of Waverly Place" actress for being the bigger woman.
