Did Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber really get in a feud? The alleged beef has reportedly been going on for years. While the fight is mostly between their fans, the two celebrities have an actual history, most notably because of Justin Bieber.

According to Forbes. the latest drama between the two started last February 22 when Selena posted a TikTok joking about how she had accidentally over-laminated her eyebrows. 

A few hours later, Hailey, who is now married to Selena's ex Justin Bieber, posted on Instagram a screenshot of herself FaceTiming with her friend Kylie Jenner, and it focused on their eyebrows, which netizens perceived as a dig against the Latina actress.

It apparently sent Selena's fans into a frenzy, with some of them sending Hailey death threats. That made the model run to Selena, and the actress told her fans she would not tolerate this kind of behavior.

While this one is the most recent, the feud goes way back. So how did it even begin?

Timeline of the Selena Gomez-Hailey Bieber Feud

When she was still a teen, then-Hailey Baldwin was a big Justin Bieber fan and was loud and proud of her support for the relationship of Selena Gomez and her now husband. 

She frequently tweeted her support of the former couple dating along with her love for Selena from 2011 to 2013. However, things eventually changed.

2014: Selena Gomez Went on a Trip With Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner

Selena Gomez went to Dubai for a New Year's girls' trip with Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner. However, it was suggested that the trip was all for the benefit of their friend, Hailey Baldwin, who was still 18 at that time. 

According to Elle, a Tiktok user recently said Kylie saved her video of how the girls invited Selena on the trip to give Hailey time alone with Justin. "She most likely saved it on accident," the user wrote, adding that Kylie added the video to her favorites.

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber Were On and Off in 2014

The relationship between the Latina actress-singer and Justin Bieber was rocky in 2014. It had plenty of ups and downs. During a trip to Paris, the two reportedly went together for the Paris Fashion Week, but Selena Gomez was soon spotted all alone in the city of lights.

According to Hailey Bieber herself, she and the Canadian singer began dating when she was still 18 in 2014. However, rumors that they were dating popped up in 2015, though the two maintained they were only friends. They finally went public in 2016.

After they went public, the pair soon broke up and did not talk for over a year. Soon after, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez went back together.

Justin Bieber reportedly was the one to reach out to Hailey Bieber, and the two were able to "clear the air" over their bad breakup and brief relationship. According to rumors, Bieber reportedly told his then-girlfriend Selena Gomez about this, and she was not happy.

2018: Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez Break Up for the Final Time, and He Gets Back With Hailey Bieber

After eight years of an on-and-off relationship, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez finally broke up for the final time. A few months later, Hailey Bieber said in an interview that she and Justin were better as friends.

But after a month, she and the Canadian singer began dating again. They later got engaged, and Selena Gomez seemed okay with it. The couple finally got married in September 2018, and Hailey Baldwin became Hailey Bieber.

The Feud Truly Gets Underway

Even though he has already married Hailey Bieber, Justin Bieber reportedly still has feelings for Selena Gomez. Later in 2018, when Selena was hospitalized, and it was revealed that she had psychosis, her ex was photographed crying with Hailey.

Fans soon harassed Hailey Bieber, and it was so bad that Justin Bieber had to come out and call fans out, saying that she was happy with his wife and that fans would just have to accept it.

While Selena Gomez removed all traces of her ex from Instagram, Justin was found to have Selena in his search history. On the other hand, Hailey posted and deleted comments to trolls saying he and Selena should be together.

2019: Hailey Bieber Shows Support for Selena Gomez

It seemed that Hailey Bieber wanted to let bygones be bygones, as she liked a photo with Selena Gomez on it just a week before she and Justin Bieber had their South Carolina wedding.

2019: Lose You to Love Me

Selena Gomez released her breakup song, "Lose You to Love Me," in 2019. Hailey Bieber seemed to have thrown shade at Gomez as she posted that she was listening to Summer Walker's "I'll Kill You" at the same time the song came out. She denied it had anything to do with the new Selena song.

Moving On

While it seemed that the two have somehow managed to improve their relationship, with Hailey Bieber liking multiple Selena posts, Selena's fans would still not leave her alone. 

In 2020, she finally asked Selena's fans to leave her alone as the feud seemed to have transferred between their fans.

Last year, the two snapped a photo together to show that there were no hard feelings and that their feud was mostly fan-driven. The two, as well as Justin Bieber, seem to be already sick of this beefing.
