A California teen won $1 million from a lottery scratcher game given to him as a gift by his grandmother for his 18th birthday.

KTLA 5 News reported that the ticket was bought at Oasis Market in Turlock in Central California. The lucky California teen was identified as Kaleb Heng, who played a lottery scratcher game for the first time.

In a statement, Heng said his mom was driving him to go fishing, and he decided to scratch the game card while on the way.

They had to pull over, and they found out he had won a million dollars in prize money. Heng said he did not have an ID yet, so they had to turn around and go home because he had to get an ID to claim the prize.

The new winner of the Perfect Gift scratcher game said he would use his winnings for college and invest in his future.

Another California Lottery Player Wins $1 Million From Scratcher Game

Another California Lottery scratcher ticket winner bagged $1 million. Kaleb Heng was not the only lucky winner of $1 million from the scratcher game. 

The other winner was John Vang, who got the winning Power 10's scratcher ticket as a Christmas gift from his brother-in-law. Vang said he "actually don't ever play Scratchers, that's what's funny about it," ABC 30 reported.

The winning ticket was bought at the Sunnyside Liquor & IPA Hub in Fresno. Vang lives out of California state but was in Fresno with his wife to visit family over the holidays.

Vang said that although he does not play the scratcher games, he usually plays Powerball and Mega Millions. He did not say what he intends to do with his winnings.

California has recently seen numerous lottery ticket winners, including the Powerball jackpot winner in November, who bagged a cash prize worth $2.04 billion.

California Powerball Jackpot Winner

The California Powerball $2.04 billion jackpot winner was identified as Edwin Castro, who bought the winning ticket at Joe's Service Center ahead of the November 8 drawing.

Castro faced a lawsuit after a man claimed that the winning ticket was stolen from him. Jose Rivera filed a lawsuit in February in Los Angeles Superior Court, claiming that he purchased the winning ticket at Joe's Service Center in Altadena the day before the drawing.

However, it was stolen from him by someone named "Reggie," who is among the named defendants in the lawsuit. ABC News reported that state officials pushed back against Rivera's allegations and maintained that Castro was the real winner.

Meanwhile, Castro was reported to have bought his first luxurious home, a 13,578-square-foot home in Hollywood Hills, on March 1. It features five bedrooms and six bathrooms.

The property had an initial asking price of $29.5 million. It was then bought at $22.5 million, Fox Business reported.

The home has amenities like an outdoor kitchen, an infinity pool, a cold plunge pool, a gym, a wine cellar, a movie theater, and a sauna. After a few days, he purchased another multi-million dollar mansion in Los Angeles. 

The property, which he bought for $4 million, has five bedrooms and four bathrooms, with high ceilings, crisp white walls, and minimalist light fixtures. The Japanese-inspired home in his hometown of Altadena was built in 1953.
