Bill Barr’s Joe Biden Prediction for 2024 Won’t Please Donald Trump
Former Attorney General Bill Barr has slammed his former boss, Donald Trump, as a weak candidate in the 2024 presidential election, predicting that the former president will ultimately lose to his successor, Joe Biden.
Despite being indicted criminally last week, Trump still has the right to run for the White House next year. However, Barr believed that Trump would only lose to Biden.
Barr noted that Democrats know this and will use it to their advantage, so the former attorney general made a bold prediction.
"I think ultimately the savvy Democratic strategists know [the Manhattan District Attorney's Office probe] is going to help Trump, and they want him to be the nominee because he is the weakest of the Republican candidates, the most likely to lose again to Biden," Barr told ABC's "This Week" on Sunday.
When asked about whether Trump will be convicted and sent to prison, the former Trump administration official noted that he does not think anything will happen "before a nomination is made and even perhaps" until the 2024 election.
He added: "This stuff is going to drag out through '24, and it's going to stymie and disrupt the whole Republican primary process."
Barr said he also thinks it will gravely weaken the former president as far as the general election is concerned.
"He's already, I think, a weak candidate that would lose, but I think this sort of assures it," he noted.

Bill Barr Says DOJ Could Have Very Strong Case of Obstruction of Justice Against Donald Trump
As for the Mar-a-Lago documents case, Bill Barr noted that Donald Trump played "games" with federal investigators as they sought to retrieve the documents from his Florida estate. Barr noted that this could amount to obstruction of justice.
"I think that's a serious potential case. I think they probably have some very good evidence there," the former Attorney General said in the interview, as USA Today reported.
The man who once headed the Trump administration's Justice Department admitted that the former president had no right to claim those documents he hid in Mar-a-Lago.
"He had no claim to those documents, especially the classified documents. It belonged to the government," Barr said. "I think he was jerking the government around."
He added that Trump is now being investigated on what extent he kept those classified documents and to what extent he obstructed its investigation, saying he thinks there is a "serious potential case" and that the current Justice Department probably has some good evidence to back it up.
Bill Barr Thinks DOJ Has Better Case vs. Donald Trump Than Manhattan DA
As for the special counsel tasked to investigate the various federal crimes that Donald Trump might have committed, Bill Barr praised him, saying that Jack Smith was a "very dogged, aggressive prosecutor who will get to the bottom of what happened."
Barr said he believes the classified documents case has more merit than Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's hush money payments case, criticizing Trump's indictment.
He slammed the Manhattan District Attorney's office and accused Bragg of using his power to "accomplish a political end."
"The president, unfortunately, has a penchant for engaging in reckless and self-destructive behavior that brings these kinds of things on him," Barr added, saying he was not surprised that his former boss is now facing a myriad of legal troubles, Newsweek reported.
