In a tweet, Shakira noted that it had been a difficult year for her as she has suffered "incessant harassment and persecution without relief by the paparazzi and several media outlets in Barcelona."

The Colombian stated that her two children have been enduring a difficult year, so she has established some parameters in the hope that this would allow her children a degree of normalcy, according to E! News. She released the message to the media in both English and Spanish.

Shakira and Gerard Pique agreed last year that she would get custody of Sasha and Milan, though they could still spend time with their father, granted that his new girlfriend, Clara Chia, is not with them. Shakira has now moved out of Barcelona and is taking the kids with her to have a new life in Miami, Florida.

"Now that they are beginning a new life," Shakira's message continued, "I implore the media on behalf of my children to please respect their right to privacy."

Rumors are saying that the "Hips Don't Lie" singer has already enrolled her two sons at a well-known public school in the northern part of Miami.

Shakira and the Boys' Vacation in Turks and Caicos

While the Colombian music icon is preparing her boys for the next chapter in their lives, she took them on a Caribbean vacation to the picturesque islands of Turks and Caicos.

The Turks and Caicos Islands are famous for their golden sandy beaches and turquoise waters. It is an overseas territory of the United Kingdom, and Shakira was seen enjoying some quiet time with her sons before the big move.

According to Marca, the Spanish press reported that Shakira chose a "paradisiacal and remote" so that she could relax after her emotional and rather messy breakup with Gerard Pique.

'Final' Phone Call Between Gerard Pique and Shakira Changed Everything

Before leaving Spain and moving to the United States, Shakira reportedly spoke with her ex, former FC Barcelona star Gerard Pique on the phone. However, reports indicated that the call took a "sour turn."

According to Marca, reports revealed that Pique was very angry and did not listen to reason. There were several words exchanged between the former lovers, with Shakira being upset because her final conversation with Pique was not as friendly as she had hoped.

The singer reportedly moved up her plans to move to Miami due to her father's worsening health conditions. He is reportedly not able to receive the healthcare he needs in Barcelona and must receive medical attention in the United States.
