Authorities in Illinois said a 26-year-old Chicago woman, who attacked multiple women, some with a metal baseball bat, has been charged.

Chicago police said Thursday that Denise Solorzano was arrested at around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 2700 block of West Foster Avenue in relation to the crime spree on the northwest side.

According to ABC 7, she has been charged with three counts of aggravated battery in a public place, four counts of aggravated battery use of a deadly weapon, and one count of felony aggravated assault.

Solorzano's bond was set at $800,000 or $100,000 for each victim she allegedly assaulted.

According to the prosecution, the Chicago woman asked the victims before attacking them of either "What would you do if I hit you with this bat?" or "What would do you do if I punch you in the face?"

Solorzano's parents left the courtroom distressed, stating that their daughter has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, and they hope she receives the assistance she needs. Solorzano is set to appear in court again on May 17.

Chicago Woman Drives a Car While Committing Her Baseball Bat Attack

According to prosecutors, Denise Solorzano allegedly assaulted several women with a short metal baseball bat while driving around in a white Subaru sedan.

The victims, seemingly picked randomly, have suffered bruises and cuts from being pushed to the ground or struck with the baseball bat, Chicago Sun-Times reported.

One woman, who was attacked Sunday, claimed that she hit her head after the Chicago woman pulled her to the ground by her hair, causing her to lose her vision briefly and "other senses." Another victim said some of her hair was "pulled out" after the suspect allegedly grabbed her.

A witness further noted she saw Solorzano, with a bat, on Tuesday morning, and the suspect got out of a white car and began hitting two women with a baby stroller "over and over again."

During the court hearing, Judge Maryam Ahmad expressed concern about the danger Solorzano posed to women and children in the community.

Solorzano's mother said she tried to take her daughter to a hospital for treatment but was repeatedly released. Aside from schizophrenia, her family said the Chicago woman has also been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

Although Solorzano has taken some college courses, the assistant public defender noted that she was unemployed due to "some significant mental health issues."

Chicago Woman's Victim Recalls the Terror of the Baseball Bat Attack

According to NBC Chicago, a victim is still traumatized after being violently attacked by the Chicago woman on Sunday. The attack occurred near the Ravenswood Manor School while the victim was exercising.

The victim noted that Denise Solorzano had just gotten out of a white sedan and began shouting expletives and accusing her of looking at her.

After that, the suspect lunged at the victim, who attempted to flee, but the suspect pulled her down by her ponytail to the ground. The victim noted that Solorzano also ripped her shirt and scratched the right side of her neck before the suspect left.

The victim attempted to avoid the attacker by walking around the school but was confronted again when the suspect stopped her vehicle, got out, and said, "I am not done with you."

A Good Samaritan eventually drove the victim home. At least 10 attacks in a three-day span were reported in Chicago's Northwest Side last weekend. Among the victims were several women assaulted by Solorzano.

Shocking footage of one attack shows the woman who desperately tried to keep the stroller away from the Chicago woman who was hitting her with a bat.

Chicago Ald. Rossana Rodríguez-Sánchez noted that Solorzano was taken to an area hospital for evaluation after she was arrested.
