Seth Rollins Joins New 'Captain America' Film: What Will Be His Role?
Just as Seth Rollins is about to compete for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, the wrestler was seen on the set of "Captain America: New World Order." This begs the question... what role is he playing in the Marvel film?
According to Fightful, the former SHIELD member was spotted filming in Atlanta, Georgia while wearing a costume belonging to the villainous group, the Serpent Society. However, it was pointed out that while he is seen in seen playing a member of the film's villainous group, his exact role was not revealed yet.
He will be starring in the film which will see Anthony Mackie, who plays Sam Wilson, formerly The Falcon, don the stars and stripes of Captain America for the first time, becoming the successor to Steve Rogers, the original Captain America who retired after the events of "Avengers: End Game."
Rollins, who was one of the biggest heel (bad guy) wrestlers in WWE, will certainly be no stranger to being a villain. He had won several titles in the promotion, from the NXT title to the WWE Tag Team title and, of course, the WWE title itself.

Seth Rollins is set to meet The OC leader AJ Styles at Night of Champions in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on May 27, 2023, with many wrestling insiders predicting that he will be winning the new title and becoming the champion of Raw, while current WWE and Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, will be the champion of Smackdown!
However, eWrestlingNews stated that while many of the people backstage are truly happy for him, they are also hesitant to place the title on him as more roles could come his way should he take off with this new Captain America film.

Dave Bautista, or Batista in WWE, had his film career take off with the Marvel film, "Guardians of the Galaxy," as he played Drax the Destroyer, one of the members of the titular group. Meanwhile, Dwayne Johnson, also known as "The Rock," has become one of the biggest movie stars in the world. With this track record of success from their former stars shifting into movies, there is clear hesitancy backstage about Rollins appearing in the MCU.
'Captain America: New World Order' Plot Still a Secret For Now
Much like many upcoming films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the plot of "Captain America: New World Order" is still strictly under wraps. However, according to Bleacher Report, it will be a continuation of the events from "The Falcon and Winter Soldier" series on Disney+ where Sam Wilson officially became the new Captain America.
The film will also star Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres, who will be taking up the mantle of The Falcon from Wilson. Meanwhile, Harrison Ford will be making his MCU debut as General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, who was previously portrayed by the late William Hurt until the actor's death in 2002. Finally, Liv Tyler will also be returning to the MCU as Betty Ross, Bruce Banner's love interest in "The Incredible Hulk" and General Ross's daughter.
