California: Queen Elizabeth Assassination Plot in 1983 Revealed by FBI Files
The FBI has revealed some shocking new information regarding Queen Elizabeth II and her 1983 visit to California as the agency revealed that there was a potential plot to assassinate her.
According to The Guardian, the FBI document that revealed this new piece of information was released through its online vault. It seems to be intelligence given to federal agents around 40 years ago, saying that there was a threat to the queen's life in California.
Between February and March 1983, Queen Elizabeth and her husband, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, went to California for an official visit as part of a tour of the US west coast.
The assassination plot seems to be connected to the Irish Republican Army (IRA) and it happened after the 1979 assassination of her cousin, Louis Mountbatten, through a bomb in his boat.
The Plot To Kill Queen Elizabeth II in California
When Queen Elizabeth made her US visits, it was at the height of the conflicts between the United Kingdom and the IRA. The documents revealed that the FBI was closely monitoring the situation and were collaborating with the US Secret Service to protect the queen.
According to CNN, a man who claimed that his daughter was "killed in Northern Ireland by a rubber bullet" was the one who called in the tip before she visited the San Francisco police.
He claimed that the assassination attempt would be conducted by dropping off an object, possibly a bomb, from the Golden Gate Bridge and into the Royal Yacht Britannia while it passes below. This prompted the secret service to close down the walkways as the royal yacht approaches the bridge.

The document also revealed that there was also a plan to kill her when she visited Yosemite National Park. However, there was no mention of any precautions made during her visit to Yosemite National Park.
Other documents in the released files revealed preparations during Queen Elizabeth II's 1991 state visit. It includes concerns about Irish groups organizing protests, including a baseball game that she was attending at the time, as well as a White House event.
Queen Camilla and Princess Kate Had a Big Argument After Queen Elizabeth II's Death
Speaking of Queen Elizabeth II, Marca revealed that Queen Consort Camilla had a heated argument with Kate, Princess of Wales. It happened right after the late queen's death.
It may be because the Queen Consort may have been jealous of the next woman who might become the queen of England. Reports stated that Kate got along very well with Queen Elizabeth, who was also a big admirer of her. However, the same cannot be said with Camilla, whose relationship with King Charles III had always been controversial as she did not approve of his relationship with her.
With Camilla now becoming the queen, nobody was able to keep her in check and this resulted in a "blazing blowout" between Camilla and Kate shortly after Queen Elizabeth II died. The animosity between the two was noted when Princess Kate did not curtsy for Camilla.
